She's the Slayer!
CHRONICLES OF THE SLAYER
This is one of the cool reference books about Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, where you can get detailed information of the now iconic TV series, its characters, its monsters and magic items, that they have appeared on the TV series.
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer was a pioneer in the field of paranormal romance mixed with kickin' action, that it's nowdays so popular in prose literature, and Buffy was the one which prepared the path to all of them.
A TV series that was able to mix horror with humor keeping its positive impact with the fans.
Also, along with Xena, Warrior Princess, it was Buffy one of the few TV shows at its time having a female character naming the series and being without a doubt the lead character.
Here, in thie book, also you will read information behind-the-scenes about how the TV show was made, including its special effects.
Obviously, there are many of reference books about this, but while this is already kinda outdated due its publication date, it's still a kickin' butts book, fun to read and a cool collector's item!

I’m probably the world’s biggest Buffy nerd. I dedicate the entire month of October to read whatever I can about this slayer and her Scoobies. Someone gave me this Official Companion Guide (people hand these to me all the time; I’m sure they don’t want to just throw them away so they give them to me knowing I love this stuff). This book is packed full of episodes from season one and season two with interesting tidbits on each topic; vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts, sea monsters, etc. It also has trivia (I did alright) and background stories on the main characters and guest cast.

I had a lot of fun reading this book. Buffy is, and always will be, one of my favorite tv shows, and I enjoyed going behind the scenes to read about the characters,actors, episodes etc of the making of the show.

This "episode guide" covers the first two seasons of Buffy, although the author seems to think they all belong to the first season. This is only one example of the problems i have with this book.
Each section introduces an episode and gives a brief summary of the episode, then goes on to discuss a topic tangentially related to the episode. For instance, in the part about "The Witch" the author chose to discuss the rise of the Spanish Inquisition, and "The Dark Age" goes on and on about premonitions in historical fiction. There are also trivia questions, which are mostly good, sidebars about goofs and continuity errors in the show, which, whatever, and this thing called "Everything I need to know, I learned from Buffy" which is really obnoxious. Examples: Never let an ax-wielding vampire guard your back, leaving a party with a bra you didn't bring with you just isn't a good thing, never turn your back on a man who sells cursed Halloween costumes... See what I mean? They aren't even funny.
Ugh. This whole thing is so irritating. It's barely about Buffy, the author is trying too hard to be funny, and it's not even 100% correct. Unless you're a completist Buffy fan, give this one a pass.

This book was pretty hilarious! I loved reading about the bloopers and others interesting things that happened on set and between the cast members and learning more about them.
My only gripe about these books is that I wish they were for the entire series because Spike's input is so limited and Riley, Dawn and Tara and mentioned. Yes, I do realize it was written before the later seasons, but still. Just saying.

I did finish this, but I very much skimmed it. I thought it was going to be more about the show, and it wasn’t.
