About the author

Alfred Marston Tozzer was an American anthropologist, archaeologist, linguist, and educator. His principal area of interest was Mesoamerican, especially Maya, studies. He was the husband of Margaret Castle Tozzer and father of figure skating champion Joan Tozzer.

This book is a great reference book. It was wonderful that it referenced the Dresden Codex often. I've been looking through the Dresden and using other material to study it. This book greatly augmented my study.

Pretty much straight forward discussion on the animal figures found in the maya codices.
