This series has been one thrilling case after another. I have really enjoyed Eva’s story following her character Special Agent Darcy Hunt, who is an amazing MC. Honestly, all of her “good” characters are so engaging and her villains equally so. There are the ones who are straight up evil like Hess and others who have walked in the gray areas leaning into the darker side of life and the choices you can make.
Eva also has a talent for writing an amazing story with some pretty dark material and all without vulgar or profane language or sex. That is super hard to find in adult and young adult literature today. I think she deserves a huge shout out because of this. I know many aren’t bothered by such details in a story but I also believe there are those who will appreciate Eva’s skill at writing without it.
The Killer’s Son was full of intense action and suspense. It moved the mystery along at a satisfying pace, unveiling one piece at a time without giving the ending away. It was hard to put this book aside just to be a responsible adult because I wanted to keep reading to see what happens next. I’m excited to see how she continues Darcy’s story. Definitely will recommend this author and this series to my fellow readers.
The Killer's Son is the fifth book in the Darcy Hunt FBI Mystery Series by Eva Sparks - I binged the entire collection which proved to be quite gripping reading. FBI Agent Darcy Hunt is not your typical crime-fiction lead ... she’s layered, haunted by past traumas, and yet still fiercely determined to seek justice. Each book plunges readers into intricate cases involving missing persons, political intrigue, and chilling criminal minds - all while weaving in Darcy’s personal struggles and evolving relationships. Ms. Sparks’ writing shines with taut and dynamic storytelling that kept me turning pages late into the night, and yet still rich enough with emotion that made me care about the people behind the crimes. The investigative details felt authentic without bogging down the storyline/s, and the twists are clever enough to have kept me guessing. A binge-worthy FBI thriller series that delivers both heart-pounding suspense and a heroine you’ll want to root for from book one to the latest release. Happy Reading…
I like this author and am reading a few of her series. This book could’ve been half the pages written and filled with more action, I don’t mean more gore and cult stuff, but definitely more about Darcy, Skylar and the others. As we progress through this series the character development is sorely lacking. I understand the need to keep the story alive about Hess and his minions but please give the main characters more life and depth. Sky has a son, only referred to once or twice and what is happening to Darcy in her personal life. All these things add to the series and the characters. They are not solely there to find Hess. There are some great characters that can help make this series more interesting. But, all in all, I still read it to the end and will probably read the next one, but I am going to take a break and read something that has depth and excitement.
The Killer's Son(Darcy Hunt FBI Mystery Suspense Thriller Book 5)
OMG!!!!!!!!!! This book was worth waiting for. Darcy faced evil and survived. Toby got away, but she will catch him eventually. Skylar survived but they lost an agent, I won't say who, you have to read the book. It was sad, scary, suspenseful and truly terrifying, but I loved every minute. I can't wait for the next book.
Darcy and her guy friend from college end up kissing. Skyler ends up with a guy. (:
I really enjoyed this book. The joy it brings me to read that two best friends can help save each other from getting killed. That an inmate saves an fbi agent from getting ****** by another inmate who breaks out. To Darcy facing the guy who kidnapped her. To seeing her sister and saying she loves her.
I recommend the whole series. ❤️

The best yet! I thought this book was the best so far in the series. It seemed like Eva has grown alot as a writer since her first book. I liked how this book pulled together pieces of the bread crumb trail from other books. It did feel like the grand finale of Martin and Darcy waited and waited and then it was a bit rushed. All in all a great series.
Mail-biting and eerie, but I’m so glad this particular situation has finally ended. Frankly I had gotten bored with the whole thing. I’m not happy that there may be more from one of the villains in the future though.
The next book has an interesting Prologue, I’ll be getting into that one next…or, I may find something a lot less jarring to read next, just to settle my nerves!
Eva Sparks is a fabulous, strong story teller. I love the journey, but I am not a fan of the way the bad guy escapes paying for his crimes. The end of all of the books in this series left me a tiny bit unsatisfied. I keep reading hoping the next will be different. But, I keep reading.
I knew from the start who was behind the disappearance of the judge. I just didn't have the fine details of what was going on. Eva Sparks finally gave me the suspense I've been looking for. Some of Darcy's story finally comes to an end but some of it continues. UGH! I my opinion the series is getting better. I read on Kindle Unlimited.
Of all the books in this series, this one was more concise, less repetitive and had fewer editing errors ( which is not to say it didn’t have any, because it does) than the previous books. I enjoyed it more, although I still found myself glossing over waaaaay too many lengthy recalls. She pulled together the ending well.
Just when you think you've got it figured out, something changes and you have no clue what's going to happen. Lots of emotions from happy and hopeful to sad and helpless. I bummed about Darcys friend toward the end there. I can't say more without giving it away. So ill continue on to see what else is in store for this group of characters.
Uncle....this got too weird for me. Not sure that I can continue on with this series. Marvin turned out to be a "human" and Parsons is all over the map. The chaos at the prison and the ensuing "whatever it was" put me over the top.
Oh well. I had a good run with Darcy and Skyler and I hope that they live happily ever after with Todd and Zach.
It's another amazing book from Eva Sparks. Our favourite FBI agent Darcy has gotten herself into another pickle to figure out and work out. She still has Hess to worry about but she will figure out something with the help of her other friends and co-workers. Can't wait to read the next book.
Darcy & Skylar are still hunting for Marvin Hess. And of course Darcy is still looking for her sister Lila. This is awesome mystery book with lots of twists and turns. You will love it. 🙂
Loved the story line as it continues through out the story. Could not wait to read the next book. Very suspenseful not knowing who or what is next. Wonderful writing and imagination. Keep up the greatwork, can't wait to read more of your work.
I'm still captivated with the series. I like all the characters and find them believable. The storyline is good and leaves me wanting more. I'm getting ready to download the next in the series.
Wow! I am on the edge of my seat at midnight, again! This series is one you've got to read. Every. Single. One. This has you cheering for the good guys and secretly planning the bad guy's demise! Looking forward to Book 6.
Sad how Darcy found her sister, only to have a more tragic ending to be. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I'm happy that Darcy and Sky are still ok. These girls make a great team.
I have come to the conclusion that this entire series was summed up in one line. Love over evil. Trouble is it really isn't ever going to be done because evil is everywhere, everyday. Now there is only "hope."
A wonderful action-packed, sometimes humorous book!
I really enjoyed this book. The main character was someone I would love to have as a friend. Darcy and Skyler make a great team as FBI agents. The story kept me involved to the end.
I’m done with this author’s books. Pretty much all the endings are dumb. Two federal agents just stood there chatting and let the wounded Toby escaped. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever read or watched.
Another great read. I feel exhausted after this crazy race. Sparks really knows how to keep you running everywhere until it finally comes to an end with morality and introspection.
Another book that I could not put down. Finished in less than 24 hours because it was so good. I thought for sure Darcy would have been killed but she’s Still alive and found her sister. Now to ring the next book in the series.
A very exceptional storyline. It keeps you guessing and it satisfies you with both questions and answers. I hope there are many more books in this series.
