About the author

CJ Zachary is an author who works exclusively with her illustrator husband Zac Zachary. The husband and wife duo are both from Arkansas. They have worked in elementary education for over a decade. Zac has been an art teacher his entire teaching career. Whereas CJ has taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. She has also been a Literacy Curriculum Facilitator as well as a Dyslexia and Literacy Interventionist. The two are currently living in the south and raising their two children, one of which was the inspiration for their first book, The Awkward Avocado.

It was such a joy to receive this gifted copy of the awkward avocado sequel from C.J. Zachary! My little one absolutely loves this series and we really enjoyed the addition of The Awkward Avocado's little brother!

Our favorite part of Ms. Zachary's books are the wonderful messages they impart! The first one in the series relayed the importance of just being yourself and this second one is all about sibling rivalry that never supersedes their love for one another. It's all about patience and understanding, and don't we all need a little of that in our lives🥰?

This sweet book is perfect for a new big brother or sister or even the instigating little brother or sister (as in our case)😂! And I must say, the drawings are just adorable😍😍😍!

I witnessed this book being read to a group of elementary students, and their expressions and excitement were priceless. The illustrations are phenomenal and seem to pop right out of each page! Anyone who has siblings, no matter what age, will definitely be able to relate to this awesome, sweet book.

I have been so excited for the debut of this sequel, and it’s finally here! If you’ve ever had an annoying but lovable younger sibling, you will totally relate to this book! I love how the artist elevated the illustrations for this one and all the fun pops of color, too!!
