This book was a signed copy I found on my mama’s bookshelf while visiting. It is a quick but powerful, impactful read. Silva exemplifies the hardship and resilience that is the reality of so many California farmworkers and Latinx families. This book is a powerful narrative- sad, funny, poignant and relevant.
I heard Simon Silva speak and was so taken by the account of his youth as a migrant agricultural worker that I bought his book. This is a wonderful collection of tales from his youth in the Pacific Northwest, California and the American Southwest. His memories are touching and at times melancholy.
