Are there more modern and accurate resources for the birds of Alberta? Certainly.
But does anyone capture the charming little details of every bird and its story as well as Salt? Hardly.

If you want hyper-accuracy with the current ranges of all birds to take wing over Alberta, then I'd recommend a more modern book. But if you are reading simply for a love of birding and for casual identification needs, then this book is a treasure for any shelf.
