Rate this book
Depression Anger Fears Anxiety And Other Common Difficulties With Life Discover what may be the REAL reason behind them. Dr. William Backus, from his years of counseling and research, has discovered that these distressing disorders are often merely the symptoms of something much more serious. Unbalanced emotions, improper reactions, and inappropriate behavior may represent rifts with God. Rather than accepting God's view of what is good for them, people disagree and drive themselves away from His love and care. God's truth alone can restore and reclaim. Discover new insight for dealing with personal problems. From the bestselling author of Telling Yourself the Truth.

When your conscience next gives you hell and you observe the symptoms of your pain and alienation, consider picking this book up. Mr Backus will take you to that region of your heart where all your unexamined hurt and anger at the world and God are stored up. In gentle and clear ways he can with your cooperation, guide you through these difficult emotions back to a place of resting transparently in the power of God.

For what its worth, this is my favorite book. When things stop making sense and I'm in deep conflict with myself, this book is a touch stone of truth.

It had several good points that would be helpful for most believers struggling with depression and other similar things. I think the hardest part for me was how simplistic Dr. Backus made the book. Because I have a college education and have take a few psychology classes, I found the book harder to relate to overall, though there were definite points that were excellent.
