Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.
Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.
Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.
According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.
A poor collection of short stories for kids, each story has it's moral about not lying, always share your things and good things will happen to you. I think my daughter is too old now to find this collection interesting, I didn't get any of the usual 1000 questions I usually get when reading to her. I did expect questions during the story about the cat that tied feathers to it's tail to try and catch birds, but it just wasn't interesting enough.
The writing is not up to Enid Blyton's usual standard so I'm wandering if this is really her work at. all.
This is an enjoyable book for all. A light read for adults and a good read for teens and children. The plots are interesting and fast pace. The Characters pulls you in and you’d drown in the book in an instance. I’ve enjoyed rereading this one.

When I was six or seven years old, my dada took me to the glamorous glass-walled Saeed Book Bank, and bought me The Cat With a Feathery Tail, the book that would make me a reader. Sifting through Enid Blyton's short story collections now, I'm amazed at how a single glance at the cover is still enough for me to know whether I read the book, and whether or not it was one of my favorites. I've sold or donated most of them now, complete with the bright red binding they inevitably needed once I wore them out. It's funny thinking of how I used to subconsciously read Blyton's name on the cover as "Enidin" when I was very small, because the two dashes under the "d" in "Enid" resemble the Arabic diacritic.
Decided to re-read this as it was one of my favourites as a small child. Unfortunately it hasn't aged well and I don't think it would be popular with children of today's generation.
a book which i will recommend to my future children so they could help me w house chores and stop lazing around 😂 The whole book is very imaginative. It is okay :)
These books are delightful for children of all ages, and, what is more, most of them have a lesson and moral to be learnt (some of which once read are never forgotten!). Absolutely recommended.

This is the book that introduced me to Enid Blyton. I still have it on my shelves now and I've managed to preserve its condition well, which makes me happy, especially since because of it I began to read more and explore things beyond what I was used to.
Oh, and I came out of this book with one thing - lumps of sugar do cure "hee-cups"!
