I really like Maria she's so sweet and she's like a protective mother towards everyone, I love her so much. But for me it's kinda annoying when Alya wants to say something to anyone she talks in Russian like we understand Russian, but you don't need to show it off so much, you're not the only one you can talk it , there are others that also understand and speak this language, it's just my opinion if it wasn't for that I wouldn't hate it so much.

3.25/5 or 6.5/10
I'm in a pickle, I know this is a guilty pleasure. I don't want to put it above a 6/10. But when it's such an easy read. I just want more.
Fuck you, six is a good score. I enjoyed it. I'm excited for later volumes with more romance focus.

After feeling liberated by buying more of this series, am I falling back into the soft arms of animanga and not trying out thought-provoking classics like I initially wanted? Nah its not that deep.
As in a review for the LN itself, I only care for about 1/3 of the characters, and the mc is trying to be Ayanokōji LOL. Another funny note, It took me 6 months to finish this one.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Vol. 2

Finally caught up with the anime. Surprisingly, the anime didn't try to adapt to many volumes, unlike countless other animes. There was little content that wasn't adapted into the anime of this volume.

A good volume, it was funny. The character development was okay, nothing much noticeable apart from the slight hint at the past of Kuze, Yuki, and Alya. Masha is the best girl, hands down, the real GOAT. Ayano, though, comedy queen, literally Ayanokoji would love to have her XD.

"“I apologize for my ignorance, but…what does ‘BDSM’ mean?”
“Huh? Oh, it stands for Best Damn Suou Maid.”"

The debate was okay. Nothing too much. Liked the anime version better of this part.

I wanted so badly to enjoy this series and I liked the uniqueness of the gimmick, but ultimately it’s the humor that did me in; it’s just not for me and totally took me out of the story each time. Without those instances, I did like the characters overall and it does have some good character growth scenes. The author is good at building three-dimensional characters (especially the female ones) except for when throwing them under the bus during those aforementioned “humor” scenes. Lastly, they especially did Yuki a disservice, in those beginning scenes in particular (just… gross). I will not be continuing this series.

Alya Kujou and Masachika Kuze have declared that they are going to run for Student Council President and Vice-President next year. They figure their main opposition will be Yuki Suou, Masachika's sister. But then Sayaka Taniyama popped up challenging why the two were running which lead to a debate before the student body. Along the way, everyone on the Student Council was involved in a welcome party for new members that did not end as various members had thought it would. A fun read that built on the relationships from volume 1. Looking forward to the next volume.

It is a good story. There is development in this volume but not as much as I'd expected.

Still a good read. Totally worth it.

What's Russian for "I once peed on a future US President while my KGB handler filmed it from behind the two-way mirror"?
