A Dangerous Love takes place in Phoenix at the Phoenix Police Department with Elena Jackson a lady detective. Elena comes from a family of cops, her brothers and her now retired father. Elena finds herself in the sex crimes unit until she files a sexual harassment suit against a follow cop. With the results of her getting a desk job until it went away, but Lieutenant Dawson steps in and recruits her to the cold case unit. Elena father finds out and ask her to reopen a case of his ex-partner murdered daughter Mary Lynn.
Mary Lynn was married to Adam the Ex-Football player that’s accused of killing her. After a long night out and comes home in a drunken state finds his wife Mary Lynn died with her wedding dress. The case and evidence wasn’t handled right and the case was closed and filed under cold case unit. After years the case was reopen by Elena the skilled detective that’s determined to put Adam away. But before putting him behind bars she has to get passed his best friend and Attorney Reardon that truly knows for a fact that Adam is not the killer.
Reardon the Ex-Football player now Attorney fights to clear Adam name if it takes everything including his happiness to make it happen. Reardon finds himself going head to toe with a beautiful young Detective that goes by the name of Elena that clouds his judgment. He battles the pain of love and the truth within to keep Adam a free man.
The whole story is surrounded by romance and what ifs and totally not a law and order kind of story that makes you what more. It’s a good read but I can’t recommend it to the next reader because it could have been better.

I enjoyed my first story by the team of J M Jeffries. This was a love story that was also a suspense or a detective novel. A very fast read, I couldn't put it down. Elena is a detective who has filed a sexual harrasement suit. And has been working in Sexual Crime Scenes with a 80% record. But since her suit has been given a desk job. Why would she be the one getting the hard knocks here. The good ole boys network is still hard at work in Phoenix. She is pressured into taking a job at the Cold Case Unit. Either that or keeping the desk job or retiring pretty much. This is where she meets famous ex-football player Reardon who is a wet behind the ears lawyer. She is trying to solve a case that her father has asked her to look into (he is a retired cop & now a famous movie star) that involves Reardon's best friend. Reardon's best friend Alex's wife was killed 8 months earlier and Elena suspects him. Turns out there has been a series of murders. Pretty good story.

Edge of Your Seat Romance & Thriller
This is only the second novel I've read by the J.M. Jeffies duo and I have to say I was not disappointed. I enjoy the characters (good and bad). I love the closeness of the Jackson family. And the romantic tension between Reardon and Elena heats up and leaps off the pages. Not to mention the edge of your seat suspense the novel keeps you in, with 'Who Done It' and what's going to happen next. Couldn't put it down until I was finished! A Definite MUST Read!
