This is a book that will make you think long before you've finished it, which is a very good thing in my opinion.

Through various letters and poems Ramón Sampedro wrote, he gives us incredible insight into the life of a tetraplegic, or a person who 'lives in hell', as he so often describes it.

And what does it mean living in hell? It's to be denied the freedom to be and do what one pleases, not being able to be lord and master over your own body and life, being immersed in despair and lacking all

I picked this book out of random, not knowing how much I would agree with the protagonist. Wonderful atheist book. Should you have the right to die? Yes, you should have the right to die, but I don't think it would be a smart choice to make it "legal", just think about all the dumb teens out there, they would kill themselves left to right.

Very powerful book read it after seeing movie and wow. And I could not agree with him more if I was in his situation I would probably would not want to be here either. The book really gets into his head and really touched me deep down more than the movie. I am really glad I know how to read Spanish even though I read English faster this is one book I was not in a hurry to finish.

I loved the movie, and that inspired me to buy this book. It was definitely worth the read. A challenging read for a non-native speaker, but an amazing insight into the mind of Ramón Sampedro and his thoughts on the legality of assisted suicide.
