My absolute FAVORITE. My stepdad is an AVID fan of the Masters....so during the Masters we made several of the recipes from this book and we had a great time making them as well as eating them!!!
I remember watching my mother go through that book and make her little cryptic notes as she rearranged ingredients (depending on what she forgot--again--from the grocery store), did the math for more or less company and added her personal likes and dislikes per menu item. My grandfather made a Sour Cream Pound Cake every.single.day. Toasted with butter for breakfast in the morning, with homemade peach ice cream in the evenings or with the TT@TM famous cobbler. Today, at the whopping age of 35 (again), I have this cherished book and it STAYS on my kitchen counter. It is my bible. It has history. It carries with us, the local Augusta folk, a pride that can only be described as....delicious. We here in Augusta find it almost sacrilegious to NOT have one and often still give it as gifts. If you love food and want a guarantee for yummy meals, get this book. Once you have it, you'll understand. Y'all take my word for it.
