"The she-devil had no right to torture him like this. Just the sight of her made him not all over!"
Martha Cecilia is a bestselling Filipino romance novelist who writes for Precious Pages Corporation. Many of her books have been adapted on TV including Impostor and her highly-acclaimed, Kristine Series.
Had your parents gave you an animal for a gift to your birthday or any special occasion? Well, I don't because of some issues in my place like area, medical and so and so that my mother keep on reasoning again and again. Well at least we have a dog which my mom consider as her pet and not ours but I was hoping for a horse, I mean not now, but in the near future and named Peewee and not Pegasus. Shame. But sometimes people give you gifts when you are sad not to congratulate your current status but to lift up your emotion, but what if something bad happen to the gift that you treasured much?
Everyone knew Miranda Alcaraz in their town and she was one of the hopeless ladies to be loved by men. She was unica hija of one of richest ranch owners and she became famous because of her beauty and brain, but wait, why those men were scared to run with the lady? Well, she was one of the harmful women that you can bother around and most of the guys knew her true color. But what if a mysterious man named, Daniel, face her. Can she put Daniel's knee down or is he the man that she's looking for?
Martha Cecilia always have the same plot but I keep on teasing myself to think something different while reading it. I was expecting too much from her works always and this time, I'm very disappointed from what I read. This is her first few novels published by precious Hearts Romances and a little bit scary to read because this was her first attempt to write and publish. Improvements always have a room for a new writer like her in the past.
For a woman in her age, she is too golden enough to write romance novels. Some authors of the same company loved her and inspiration for most of those young authors. If you already read few of her works, you will know the fundamental of writing a romance novel. It should always have a twist in the end with good conflicts in between, something unanticipated by readers like me. Gahd! I'm still a beginner but I always dream to be like her, not a lady but a writer.
The female protagonist reminds me of my mother being pretty and string when she was in her 20s. She doesn't like guys and she always keeps herself into her work but love can do unexpected things to a person like in the book. The female protagonist is somehow a man hater but fall back into the hands of a mysterious man. Very common story indeed but it always interests Filipinas. Insert laugh, Filipinas are always hard to get.
Martha Cecilia also includes medical in the book but not well execute. I mean, she just mix it to make things clearer and to show the guy's true identity which I want to make it as a secret until the end. If she did a little more explanation in that part, maybe it will be a little new taste for her fans to read. But things might be a little complicated if she will do that or her editor might cut that part. I salute to what Daniel did! You are the man bro!

Rating: Mga Latay ng Pag-ibig by Martha Cecilia, 3 Sweets
My mom bought at least all of her books. Didn't realize i have read all Martha Cecilia books from Sweetheart to Kristine Series while i was still in highschool. Now im rereading all of her books, i've got half of a bookshelf to read. ♥️😍
