An illustrated look at the enduring presence of vampire lore in Western culture discusses the mythical and religious origins of vampire legend, historical accounts of vampires, and the present-day image of vampires in literature and film. Original.
This book is more interesting than done well, but it is interesting: a well-illustrated history of all things vampire from bats to book and movie vampires (and their origins) to real people obsessed with blood. There is no depth at all, but the book offers a quick snapshot of the breadth of the field.
