This 2009 Joe Grundy mystery features the series hotel detective solving a couple of connected murders (one a cold case) as he tries to protect his boss. Lots of action, violence, and some Vancouver, B.C. atmosphere.

Standard murder mystery except the "investigator", Joe Grundy, is head of hotel security / hotel owner's body guard and he's investigating the murder of his boss' fiancee. Joe lucks into the information he uncovers and he keeps several steps ahead of the police, not because of any flashes of brilliance
