The reason I got the book was to see if I could learn some tips on managing from one of the best in major league history. I was not disappointed. Granted, his level was much higher than most of us achieve. But there were some great words of advise to all coaches and managers. I enjoyed stories' about past players and his honest assessment of future Hall of Famers. If you are a baseball fan, this book is well worth the time.
Sparky isms are the best & this book doesn't leave any of them out, we learn alot about Sparky's management skills in this book, also, why he sat out the strike year & never managed again after that.
I recieved this book (an autographed copy) as a Christmas Gift a few years ago. It was interesting, but too much was made of "what a great guy Sparky is" from the contributors to the book. Ok, we get it. He's a great guy! What's for lunch?
