The epitome of sexy, three brothers wreak passionate havoc in the lives of three very different woman in this naughty collection that includes "A Taste of Sin," in which a beautiful doctor returns to her small hometown and gets more than she bargains for in the arms of Nick Donovan. Original.
Like so many romance readers, my first romance novel was by Kathleen Woodiwiss - The Flame and the Flower, to be exact. I was thirteen. I spent the next month working my way through her entire back list. Shortly thereafter I discovered Judith McNaught, Johanna Lindsey, Karen Robards, Catherine Coulter, Shirlee Busbee among others, and devoured their lavish historical epics full of overbearing alpha males and the women who brought them to their knees. I was hooked. My high school teachers marveled at my ability to read romance novels under the desk and still score straight A's. I started to imagine myself, living in a cabin in the mountains somewhere, writing romance novels.
It took me quite awhile to pursue my dream. After graduating from Stanford with a degree in English Literature, I worked in a variety of soul sucking admin jobs before I began my career in marketing. It wasn't exactly my dream job, but at least my writing appeared on several web sites and in many software marketing brochures. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fit the phrase "and her loins melted like hot wax" into any of them.
During my stint as the world's surliest receptionist, I took my first stab at writing. The result was a very melodramatic western historical which reads like a bad Elizabeth Lowell rip off. Its currently languishing on my hard drive, forever stuck on page 330.
Then in fall 2001 I had an incredible stroke of luck and got laid off from my marketing job. I decided it was time to stop saying I wanted to be a writer and to actually give it a serious go. Fortunately my husband, a socially well adjusted alpha male, is a very generous patron of the arts.
Four years later, I sold my first book and I'm pretty much living the dream of getting paid to write romance. I don't live in a cabin in the mountains, but I do live in a rural-ish town near San Francisco (hey, we have deer and bunnies in our yard, along with the occasional coyote) with my husband, sons, and two dogs who patiently listen to my dialogue and help me work out plot points. When I'm not writing sexy romance, I enjoy running, reading, yoga and watching Food Network and bad reality TV.
I really enjoyed this book. It contained 3 short stories that were linked together by the overlapping characters. This was not simply an erotica book, it was a look into the lives of three couples, thier friends and the people that mean the most to them. The sexual atmosphere and sensual moments were not more shocking then what I've read in some of the mainstream Romance novels. What I did get from this book is a great story and a enjoyable self-identifying journey into a believeable fictional setting. The writing was clean and left me wanting to know "where are they now?" from all our wonderful characters. After mending fences, finding love and reinventing the past, all our characters are given the happy endings they deserve from author Jami Alden. A delish read.
A Taste of Honey by Jami Alden has three stories in it all about the Donovan brother:Nick, Mike, and Jake. All three stories are SUPER HOT!!
"Stripping It Down" is Jake's story.
Kit Laughlin writes a column on sex on the Internet though she has not had a decent tumble in her mind in centuries. Now the last hunk to make her orgasm was Jake Donovan. Jake wants back in her life, but though she still loves the rat she does not trust the man who hurt her. Loved this story!!!
"A Taste of Sin" is Nick's story.
Dr. Kelly Sullivan comes back into town to take care of her father and help run his restaurant/bar. Nick has secretly thought about Kelly for years. But now she isn't a fifteen year old girl with a genius IQ. She wants to know what it is like to be with Nick since she never had her chance in high school. They want a no strings attached relationship because Nick has been burned to many times from brainy girls. What happens when Kelly decides she can not do it anymore? Again I loved this story as well.
"Kiss Me twice" is Mike's story.
Karen, and Mike were once a couple, but things ended badly and tragically for them because Mike wouldn't share his feelings with her. Karen has loved Mike for years, but the hurt that he caused her has forever left a mark on her life. Mike has also loved Karen for years as well, but felt betrayed by her. So began his hate for her.
Mike and Karen see one another, both realize their attraction remains strong; perhaps even more so this second time around. However, will they give it a second chance? There is something Mike does not know about Karen and will she tell him what happen all those years ago and will they be able to move on. This story was so sweet, but also very emotional. The story of their break-up is heart-wrenching, and their reunion is bittersweet.
These three well written second chances at love Donovan brothers' novellas are hot, hotter, and hottest, but also contain fascinating relationships between the fully developed couples as the females distrust the men they love who hurt them in the past.
I loved the 3 brothers although I have to say there's a special place in my heart for Karen and Mike. That was the best of the 3 stories. They were all great....
End at 70%. Three short stories about the Donovan brothers...all three stories are too similar, all about previous loves lost in a small town. The sex scenes were OK, but really nothing special, and the Author "blessed" all of them with enormous.......oh, you get the idea....
Three brothers that define the word sexy.and the women who love them. Feel the heat... Stripping It Down
Kit Loughlin has no qualms about discussing sex in her online column. Using a pseudonym, she keeps her private life private and that includes the intimate details of her first time-no one knows about that but her and Jake Donovan. Now Jake has reappeared in her life with something to prove and a lot of new moves. And his scorching touch sends Kit into meltdown.
A Taste of Sin
When Dr. Kelly Sullivan comes back to her small home town, Nick Donovan falls in lust-and love-all over again. Kelly is beautiful. Super-smart. Utterly sensual. And most definitely his kind of woman.in and out of bed.
Kiss Me Twice
Oh, those memories of Mike.Karen Sullivan can't forget the man. Mike Donovan was hotter than hot. She can't resist just one more night in his loving arms. But his intense sexuality cuts through all her defenses-and rocks her world all over again. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Stripping it Down
Kit and Jake meet again 12 years later, and They both had lust again for each other when they meet eye to eye... But the problem is that Jake doesn't know that Kit's using him to write her "Stripping it Down" column for entertainment to the people. But what starts out as a using, turns into a loving... When Jake finds out he's the guy in the colum that Kit makes fun of, he's furious and leaves.Determines to never fall for her again, but in the end he finds out that she truely does love him...and of course, he's a sucker for some romance in his life and sweeps her off her feet. A Taste of Sin
Nick meets Kelley later on one day again, and he's relized that she's changed. as in changed from a smart chick, to a smart HOT chick. of course kelley was cute to nick along time ago, but this time she's smokin hot and nick can't help but think CAN THEY ACT LIKE ADULTS AND TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL? After one night of just steaming hot sex one thing leads to another and they start falling for each other.... The problem is that Nick believes that Kelley is like his smart ex girlfriend, that she wont accept nick and love him back because he's stupid or not worthy of her. But in the end of course, theres a HEA and Nick is happily engaged to Kelly. Kiss Me Twice
there are two brothers left in the Donovan family left that are NOT engaged or married, so which brother will be the lucky winner? Tony...or Mike? This story, as you all know is about Mike and Karen. Turns out Mike and Karen have a little...haunting past together that eats them up each and eyveryday just thinking about it. But it all goes down from there when they meet at a club yet again. They ended up getting out of hand, and karen feels like shit because she knows that she'll never ever find love if she keeps her old habits up. Luckily for her Mike is back, and she needs to tell him what really happened in the past that he misunderstood. Mike couldn;t believe it when Karen told him that his ex best friend raped her when she was dating Mike. Sure mike saw Jake on top of Karen at the hotel doing whatever he was doing, but he thought that Karen cheated on him. Now Mike knows that he was stupid to not listen to KAren, but instead misunderstood everything and now since he knows the truth, he plans to keep her...peferible forever. They end up getting married in the end, and Karen's mom still has to have time to start accepting Karen to the family, but overall everything is good and the HEA is definately there. #88

All three intertwining short stories about the Donovan brothers were equally good. Ms. Alden stories are hot and sexy and haven’t disappointed me yet.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict the stories.

Jami Alden is a really talented author who's mostly flown under the radar, but she really has skill in building love stories with romance and heat. In this book, she raises the bar with three novellas about brothers who are all getting a second chance at love. It's so difficult to write a convincing love story in the shortened novella format, but the author really nails it by writing couples who all have history. The first two stories are a little lighter; the third one has some heavy stuff, and I felt like upon closer examination there may be some issues, but overall I liked it a lot. There's nothing cheesy about this book, like in so many erotic romance novels, especially anthologies, and everything just works.
A really excellent, well-crafted book. It's a collection of sixteen connected stories written by Jabari Asim who I had the pleasure of seeing read a few years ago. Definitely pick this one up.
Great, fun, fast, read. Vignettes for the brothers, totally worked for me! Looking for slightly angsty, girl gets the guy, guy gets the girl read? Hit THIS!! You'll love it.
3 stories in one book. Each were so short that there really wasn't much character development. Each couple hopped into bed pretty much immediately and stayed there. Just one big sexfest.

This was a compilation of three shorter stories about brothers who find their "true love" or however you want to spin it. Usually I'm not a fan of shorter stories because I feel like the missing backstory and quick progression of the relationship takes away from the believability of the story. In this case, however, I think Jami Alden did a great job of making the story feel complete and *almost* not rushed.
I enjoyed the first two stories, the third was a bit lacking for me but still was good. I do wish the fourth brother was included in this compilation. As I understand he has his own book. Overall this was a solid read and I would recommend to anyone looking for some smut with depth.
