This quickie was surprisingly sweet and romantic, and I really enjoyed it. Kheelan took the time (one year) to court Cara and convince her they were meant for each other, so this wasn't one of those insta-coupling stories.

Likable H/h, great chemistry, hot love scenes and a nice little plot to tie everything together. What else do we need? :)

Note: This is Lora Leigh, so I don't need to say that there's "backdoor loving" in this story, do I?

This was part of an anthology and I think it would have been better stuck in the anthology because it was really short and predictable if you've ever read this author before. 3 out of 5 stars.

Another short-ish Christmas story. 'Tis the season, right? This one had a little bit of a PNR slant to it... or maybe aliens is a better word. The story starts off with Cara saving a little boy from being run over by a car. She is hurt very badly when the car hits her instead, and the little boy disappears, but she's certain she remembers him. Why else would she throw herself in front of a car? And for her sacrifice, the little boy's people want to reward her, but Cara doesn't think she's worthy ...more

Surprisingly enjoyable.

However, very confusing at first. Ended up having to see if this was a novella for another series as it just seemed a little bit like it was.

Beyond that it was enjoyable like I said.

Though the virginal status annoyed me (amazing how loosing her virginity didn't hurt... AMAZING!). Someone who lived in Foster care her entire life? There is no way she'd be an adult virgin. And she was amazingly successful in life for someone who lived in the foster care hell she described. G

Cara Montgomery has had a difficult life. She fears being hurt and having what she desires taken from her, and therefore guards her heart closely. This story was decent, with some typical Lora Leigh hot scenes.

Kheelan Mattero (from First Earth) tries to give Cara Montgomery (from our Earth) her greatest wish to thank her for saving his prince's son, discovers she's his true mate and she's too afraid to wish for anything.

Jump forward the year that Kheelan's been trying to court her, and most of the story involves the claiming.

If there were any more stories involving First Earth, I'd be interested to know more.

A really quick read, but still good. I would have loved for it to be a bit longer in order to get to know Cara and Kheelan better. Most of the story revolved around them in bed for a "one night stand," though that's Cara's plan, Kheelan had other ideas. I wouldn't mind reading more about the First Earth men and women.

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared. Lora’s family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in ...more
