Excerpt from The Castle of Grumpy Grouch: A Fairy Story
There were other lessons, too, such as most boys and girls must learn, but the hardest one of all was how to keep her temper. Of course she would have had to learn that, no matter who she might have been. But, being a princess and having such a very great deal of temper, she had to study at it harder than most children do.
This was one of my favourite books to read and re-read as a child. Even now it is appealing. The story is simple but charming and easy to understand regardless of the age of the text and should appeal to kids of all ages and either gender (it's a little soft but it IS adventure) and has a quaint but still pertinent moral.
