My roommate brought this book to me from one of the free libraries in our neighborhood. I guess the title reminded her of something I’d like, and if you know me, you know she was correct lol.

Turned out to not be about grannies at odds with one another. Rather, it was an all too real story of a 12-year-old’s despair.

Lovely sentiment, but some of the dialogue and inner dialogue were far too advanced for that of an adolescent. While some of the writing was exceedingly elementary.

Easy read — something light. Just the right thing to follow Anatomy of a Murder.

Annie’s grandmother has an accident in her apartment in Winnipeg and moves in with her family in Victoria. She is old, miserable, grumpy, and she smokes and worst of all she has taken over Annie’s room forcing her to move in with her sister Claire. In fact she is worse than useless – until Annie joins the Junior Genealogical Society.
