I can't stress enough how happy I am that this was my first book about runes ever. Reading it made me wanna connect to and work with runes so badly.

First thing's first, fuck yeah for pointing out that everyone's craft is valid! Fuck yeah for saying that only because someone does something differently doesn't mean it's wrong! If it works for that person that it's right! There is no right or wrong in witchcraft, everyone's path is individual and different. That is the beauty of it!

Now there is literally nothing bad to say about this book. I loved every single page and I've been reading it as slowly as I could just so my brain could process and keep in all the information that was written. I loved that there was some mythology and Norse culture included, I find it to be a rather important part of runes and I'm so glad the author provided us with some basic information and myths.

The rune explanations were very detailed but easy to understand. As a beginner this is exactly what I'm looking for in books like this, a language I understand but with lots of detail to how a certain rune should be read and interpreted.

The fact that Saille also stated her own beliefs and ways of practicing while also offering and providing the beliefs and practices of other runemasters was what made this book very special to me. She wasn't pushing her own craft on the reader, she was simply saying how she does while also offering alternative so the reader could go with what makes them comfortable. Perfection!

But the thing I loved the most was the various excercises the author gave us. I tried the visualisation experience number one and I found it quite fun, relaxing but I also feel as if it connected me to the runes and their meanings more — which was the point of it. I'm very excited to try out other ones. I have to admit they also sound fun.

The part where Saille showed us how to work with runes in reading and a part where she showed us how to incorporate them in were very educational and helpful. They were also very detailed but easy to understan.

As I've said, I'm so glad this was my first ever rune about books. As a beginner I was looking for something that would make me feel connected to them spiritually, while also giving us the how's, what's and why's. If you're a beginner as I am, then I definently recommend you to check this book out, I doubt you'll regret it.

An extremely detailed book, packed with information covering every aspect of the runes from the author's own personal experiences of learning and working with them.

Loads of background and history, along with the mythology behind them. Then the practical elements of how to connect with them including detailed exercises followed by all the meanings and the psychology and cosmology that links with them.

This book also includes instructions for making your own set, how to inscribe, purify and empower them.

Lots of suggestions for casting and reading them along with ideas for working rune magic.

I can't imagine any other book on runes would cover so much about them.

I really like this book as a fantastic lesson on runes. It is very well written and doesn't drown you in mythology but gives you exactly what you need to understand how to really appreciate and use runes as a tool. The exercises are very powerful without being overly complicated, and I'm really looking forward to finally connecting with my runes until I am confident enough to try some of the rune magick at the end of the book.

Unfortunately, this didn't hold my interest. I'm definitely interested in runes, but the way this was written didn't work with my taste, I guess.
