Offers students a comprehensive guide to women in science, complete with mini-bios of young girl scientists, profiles of famous women scientists in history, and easy experiments. Original.
The cover of this book was unappealing to me, and it has quizzes throughout that also seem a bit too much like a girls magazine. However, in terms of actual content, it seems pretty good. I only skimmed it due to time, but it talks about different areas of science, how to design an experiment with the scientific method, and each section highlights a famous women from that field. There are also tips about different types of questions to explore in the different fields. It’s a nice basic introduction to different areas of scientific careers, and also includes a bunch more links to follow up on.
What an awesome read for our young girls. We hear from girls of readers age why science rocks and partnered with bios of women who have made a name and contribution to the field of science. LOVED IT!
