Un espediente narrativo per scattare una fotografia sulla storia recente del paese, un finto dialogo fra un letterato ed il caudillo per descrivere il livello del dibattito pubblico e storiografico sull'esperienza autoritaria spagnola. Vázquez Montalbán con "Io, Franco" non mira, per sua stessa ammissione, a una narrazione esaustiva dei fatti, ma prova a dare un significato esaustivo alle azioni. Shelves: boring
Sembrava una bella idea, il dittatore intervistato da un biografo comunista. Ma ne è venuto fuori qualcosa di noioso e ripetitivo. Franco non ne esce male: è ovviamente un megalomane bugiardo ma a tratti è persino spiritoso, mentre gli interventi dell'intervistatore sono piuttosto banali.
