I've looked around for a number of good juicing ideas online and through books, but many haven't been satisfactory or suggested a lot of fresh ingredients I rarely keep on hand. This book provides great descriptions of various fruits, veggies, herbs, and spices that treat certain conditions to lead to better health. As I have been on a Paleo type diet for three months, juicing, infusing water, and herbal teas have become a critical part of my routine. I understand the power of certain superfoods, and try to incorporate as many as I can. When struggling with a particular health condition, I refer to books/websites on what I need to focus on ingesting the most to target nutrition to meet that need. My goal is to reverse a number of chronic conditions, and prevent others from progressing.

The everything juicing book targets so many of my symptoms and provides EASY ways to juice to meet those needs. I recently got a Vitamix. I also have a Nutribullet. I've made carrot/ginger juice, pumpkin juice, and others, and this one divides various conditions up into categories with a number of combinations of fruits, veggies, herbs, and spices to provide a variety of juice mixes for a number of conditions including inflammation, migraines, diabetes, high blood pressure, low energy, chronic fatigue, motion sickness, heartburn, and other GI conditions, back pain, muscle spasms, ADHD, depression, insomnia, and so much more. I never believed much in diet as being so critical until I decided it can't hurt to try, and I've been amazed at how it is changing my life.

This Paleo diet is helping me a lot, and juicing makes it even more powerful over just eating the superfoods targeted for my nutritional needs. I no longer drink water, soda, or anything that is not loaded with superfoods and herbs, such as herbal teas, juices, and fruit infused water. It makes fulfilling my nutritional needs much easier and more effective than through food alone. I recommend this book for people who are trying to improve their health, whether in full force with all foods too, just looking for an easier way to enhance nutrition to a certain extent, or to target certain conditions through a juicing/tea/smoothie/fruit infused water diet. Other recipe ideas are included as well, and lists of what to avoid for certain conditions and what to include to help conditions with a description of how they help is a major part of the book, practical, and easy for even the amateur in juicing or superfooding to understand!

Many of the ingredients overlap, so if you map out a good shopping list, you could buy a few products to have on hand. Many fruits and veggies can be frozen and last for a long time, making it easier for people who can't finish a pint of raspberries before they go bad! A variety of combinations could treat various conditions depending on current symptoms.

I am NOT going to get the flu this year! :) I'm determined! :) I feel so much better from 25 years of chronic debilitating illnesses after starting on paleo, making some lifestyle changes, and it excites me that I have already reversed a few conditions and feel like others are improving. I "eat" books that help me learn even more and make the paleo life much easier and affordable right up! It's a passion. This is a good one for starters, but provides a lot of recipes that could be new even for the pro. Many of the juices only need two or three different powerful superfoods, but anyone somewhat advanced and familiar with juicing could modify them and add more in order to add more nutritional benefits.

A great book about the benefits of fruit and vegatable juicing. Its loaded with recipes, nutritional benefits and other vital information. Due to illness I recently started juicing and have found it to be beneficial. I had borrowed said book from the library and enjoyed it so much, that I purchased a book for myself. Now the recipes are available to me anytime. It was a good one to add to my cookbook collection. I recommend it to everyone.

The Everything Juicing Book is loaded with nutritional advice and recipes. It offers suggestions for fruit and veggie juice combinations to promote health.

I was especially fascinated by the commentary on tinnitus. Carole Jacobs recommends fruit and veggies high in A, B, and E plus protein and zinc. She suggests that sufferers avoid saturated fat, caffeinated drinks, and salty foods. Did you know that celery has a high sodium content? A three carrot plus one cup of green beans made into a juice is recommended. I plan to give it a try.

I also enjoyed reading about the 33 Best Anti-Aging Fruits and Veggies and the explanation as to why they are beneficial.

Age spots are a challenge to many. Jacobs explains that they are caused by free radicals (toxins) that accumulate in the body. See page 48 for several fruits and vegetables that may help with this problem. My diet is weak in all of the recommendations she makes.

Another section of the book explores insomnia and gives a recipe for a juice nightcap that may promote sleep.

This book is an amazing reference that I plan to keep. I just wish my juicer wasn't so difficult to clean after use. We usually make our entire harvest of grapes into juice. We have also made large batches of tomato juice. I think I'll look around for a juicer intended for smaller servings, so I can take better advantage of the recipes in this book. (less)

This book is easy to read as well as a nice quick reference. They describe the benefits of juicing as well as a whole series of recipes. The recipes are organized by health benefits and nutrients. It's a nice beginner's guide with very very simple recipes. Then again, with a juicer, the recipes are really just a list of ingredients and portions.

Don't come here looking for inspiration. The cover touts, "Great for Detox Diets and Weight Loss!" but the pages inside are filled with the author's attempts to debunk a lot of detoxing as a myth or else describing the extreme dangers of it, even including horror stories about deaths and debilitating disease occurring as a result of detoxing. Not my cup of tea. Still, some good info about nutrition and juicing for certain medical conditions here.

doesn't know which veggies grow where or how. suggests juicing all leaf veggies last...gives every indication of a quickly written, jump-on-the-bandwagon book, either poorly researched, poorly edited or both.
