I searched high and low to find a good comprehensive HR resource for small businesses and found the market sorely lacking for this demographic. This book, however, is outstanding! It is written by a labor employment law professional in clearly understandable layman's terms, and covers everything a small business would need to know about HR and more. Quick references in the appendices include Federal statutory thresholds, internet resources, a glossary of terms, and a complete index. In my work as a small business consultant, I routinely recommend this book to all of my clients. The only reason I did not give this book five stars is because it was last updated in 2009. I do hope the author will publish a more current update - I'll be first in line to purchase it!
