Hunting Booger Bottom: Life Lessons from the Field

Rate this book
“Michael [Waddell] is the real McCoy. Down to earth, clever, genuine, well-grounded, funny as all hell, kind, generous, decent, and surely one of the best natural hunters and woodsmen that I have ever grilled a sacred backstrap with.” —Ted Nugent From hunting legend Michael Waddell, star of multiple Outdoor Channel programs, comes a poignant and funny book about growing up in rural Hunting Booger Bottom . Waddell offers priceless anecdotes from his lifetime of hunting with the fascinating—and often hilarious—cast of characters he’s met along the way. Breathtaking and dramatic, filled with practical advice and indelible folk wisdom—and a foreword by Ted Nugent— Hunting Booger Bottom offers an impassioned defense of sport hunting and is a must-read for anyone who has ever wandered the woods with “a stick and a string” (as Waddell refers to his bow.)

I read Hunting Booger Bottom, By: Michael Waddell. It was a lot of little stories on how Michael had got to be where he is at right now. Michael started out as a normal kid with the love to hunt, after his mom had died and all his adopted brothers and sisters had been taken away from his father it was just him and his dad. His dad owned a construction business that Michael had worked at in the summer to make some extra money. After some guides had asked his father to take them hunting on their land the guides had went back to the corporation to tell the main boos that they had found a great kid with a great turkey call. After Realtree outdoors had made him an offer to be a part of the team he was now off and on to be one of the best turkey callers in the world.
As an avid hunter and sportsman I can really connect with this book because, I have always wanted to be a professional hunter and hunt on TV with one of the big named guys like Jim Shockey. This book also showed me that with a little hard work and determination that anything is possible to achieve even though things don’t always go the way you want them to. This book also taught me that you can always have fun out of anything you do at any time with anyone. I would highly recommend this book to anybody I know.

The book Hunting Booger Bottom is about a kid that grows up in the deep woods of Georgia and his dad is a big hunter. When he is old enough he finally gets to go hunting with his dad and he loved it. This book gives really good examples on how the main character gets big into turkey hunting and he enters into turkey calling competitions. I would recommend this novel to anyone that doesn't like reading big books that are hard to follow and enjoy reading about hunting trips and learning some more about different types of hunting. I can relate to this book because they tape some of their hunting trips and play it on tv and i watch hunting shows all the time and he hunts with some pretty awesome people like Ted Nugent. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves hunting.

I really wanted to like this book because I thought it would be a refreshing, interesting memoir that would shake up my usual repertoire. Unfortunately, it wasn't well-written or edited. The bones of the story were potentially interesting - bonding with his father on hunting trips, finding fame and success in an industry that he truly loves, and the getting the opportunity to travel the world after growing up in a small town in Georgia.

I think the book is more of a fluffy, PR piece for a niche audience, so I put it down.

I really enjoyed this amazing novel. It was a story about the authors personal life of hunting. especially turkey's. It talked about how he got involved in turkey call competitions. I recommend the book to anyone who doesn't really like to read. It was a easy book to keep reading. also to anyone who likes the outdoors and hunting. Michael Waddell shared hunting stories about how he became a hunter, and become who he is today. i related to this book because he used to have a tv show i used to watch when i was a little kid.

This book Hunting Booger Bottom was okay. The book was not on top of my list because i wasn't very interested in reading about hunting and also because of the way the book was worded. The book was very wordy when it didn't really have to be. Also this book has a lot of spelling errors. This book should have been edited more then it was because it wasn't worded good in most parts.
