Ok read. 2 separate stories with music being the common thread. Neither story can be considered "must reads".

In You Sang To Me, Reggie is a hotel worker afraid to try her hand singing professionally after being burned years earlier. Music producer Jamal Reynolds hears her sing and offers her a deal she turns down. He pursues her personally and professionally.

This was pretty good. I forget how talented Elaine Overton is until I am reading something of hers. Beverly is the best of course. This novel is about singers with promise and the men they fall in love with who can help them to the top.
