The premise of this cookbook is that it's for broke college kids. Most of these recipes would be expensive for anyone to prepare .. and I don't see college kids eating half of this stuff....leeks, sardines, parsley, gruyere, Leicester, pancetta, lamb, anchovies... Having said that, I wouldn't mind trying the mint brownies and flapjacks. I do realize that this cookbook originates in the U.K. and that their food preferences at the college level may be completely different than that in the United States...but still find it hard to believe that, on a budget, college students would be preparing Steak with New Potatoes, Roquefort, and Arugula!!!!!
