Stressing the unique interaction of the moderator and group as well as the mechanics of designing, conducting and interpreting the outcome of focus groups, this book provides a systematic treatment of focus group interviews within the context of social science research and theory. It also brings together the substantial literature on group processes and the analysis of qualitative data.

Very shallow look at running a focus group. It raises questions to think about, but doesn't give much guidance on how to solve those problems, often leaving sections with lines like 'the exact decision will depend on the purpose of the focus group'.
Also very long winded and repetitive. Still might be useful for someone organising one for the first time. Probably out of date now.
This book particularly useful for its discussion of the background on the theoretical perspectives underlying focus groups. Further, it covers the more practical aspects of running focus groups.
Read the first edition, but if you plan to do this type of method for your qualitative research and get insightful findings, then it is a good guide to do a step by step interview, by considering all the possible limitations or implications that you might meet during the applied methodology.
