This is the version of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew that I used with my 7th graders. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they took to it. Anderson's version features two parts. First, the scenes are summerized in detail in prose. The second part is a play format with simplified dialogue. The play is what the kids read aloud as a class. I was a bit unsure about introducing Shakespeare with a streamlined version of The Taming of the Shrew, but I believe it has been successful in givi ...more
