The childish storytelling is starting to wear on my nerves. All the girls are always giggling (and driving me batty). Most of the action has no consequence, and half the time I can't tell whether the narrator is being genuine or sarcastic. I've found it's best to read quickly and not think about the writing as much.
I choose to read this book because I love the show Gossip Girl. The book is about a person who knows everyone secrets and displays them on and the seniors at Constance Billard School for girls want to know if they’re getting into college. My favorite character would have to be Blair Waldorf. Blair Waldorf is really outgoing and she does whatever it takes to get what she wants. What she has wanted to get is Yale. She’s my favorite character because that’s how I am. The emotions tha ...more

I'll admit it: I really like Gossip Girl as a show. And I was going to Europe for a couple weeks, so my mom bought me this as something to read on the plane. I had no plans to read it, but I packed it anyway, in case I ran out of books. It's sort of hard to find English books in central Europe. I did end up reading it on a day I was feeling sick, and I didn't hate it; I read it in a couple hours, without stop, but man, I really didn't like it. It requires you to suspend your disbelief, which is ...more

I still wasn't a fan of the characters in this, but they weren't completely awful. Another okay read in the series.
I definitely prefer the tv show, but still, it's a fun read.

I love and I hate Gossip Girl. Each time I pick up a book I start reading it and think "meh." Meh- because it's so hard to believe in the lives of these rich girls and boys. I could sooner believe in aliens then what these people get away with. But then I keep reading and at the end of each book I think - "well, I guess I should buy the next one."

This book covers Serena becoming a famous model, Nate going to rehab, Blair having a little bit of morals (totally surprised with this one), Jenny exp

You know, I don't particularly like these books and yet here I am just finishing book number four. They are books that I read because I know I don't get too emotionally invested in. They are just light and easy (and I keep thinking Dan will stop being such a wimp). I'm trying to decide who's stories I usually ENJOY reading, and I'm probably going to go with Dan and Blair being at the top, even though none of the characters are particularly likable.

ALAS, I'm more than positive I will continue th

The title of this novel is a bit ironic. I got through to the end of the book, and it honestly didn't feel like it was worth reading. The drama/plot lines this time around were a little boring and felt like we've maybe already done them before.

Serena still can't seem to stay interested in a guy for more than a few weeks, though she does suggest getting matching name tattoos, so that's something I guess. Still

One of the quotes on the back cover refers to this series as "Sex and the City for the younger set," which is misleading. Because I'm Worth It was written with none of the wit or intelligence which made that tv show so popular. The characters all lead ridiculously glamourized lives, full of parties and four hundred dollar shoes, but they lack any pretense at substance. Some of the characters might have been more interesting if we'd seen them for more than a few pages. The perspective shifts ever ...more

Is Nate and Blair over for good? Are they more than friends, or just friends? When Nate went out with Blair they went out for a while. Than Jenny a freshmen is going out with Nate(senior). At this time Blair is very jealous, and mad at Nate and Jenny because they have a realtionship. Nate is a handsome senior that is every girls dream. He does not need to find the girls they find him. This book was about a girl who thought that she was better than everybody until someone came that was much better. so,she decided to do everything she could to keep everyones attention on her. what i learned from this book was to never stoop down to others level when they start to become jealous of you.

I tragically had to skip book #3 - due to an ereader file issue (it was translated from English to Spanish and back again, I think. Highlights included "For those who love me, gossip girl" instead of "you know you love me, gossip girl" - anyway this was as wonderful as the previous books. I am ever rooting for Blair and ever perplexed by Dan Humphrey.

Things actually happen in this book! There's a plot and there's some thinly veiled resemblance of character growth.

4/5 stars.

In this installment of the Gossip Girl series, everyone is awaiting their College acceptance letters, and there's plenty of scandal in the meantime!

The long and short of it is this: Aaron gets into Harvard early, Blair has to wait to see if she's accepted, but gets a second chance at an interview with Owen Wells - an older man who briefly plays Carey Grant to Blair's Audrey. She goes through quite a confidence crisis, has her hair cut short and even checks into rehab briefly until s

In 'Because I'm Worth It', the Upper East Siders find themselves facing some challenges but there's always a bright side to everything. Serena is now enjoying her newfound fame as a model, Blair is given a second chance to get into her dream school Yale and Nate winds up in rehab. Meanwhile, Dan is finally getting recognized for his poetries but his girlfriend Vanessa is feeling ignored..

Serena's non-existent storyline was easily the most boring and pointless one in this installment. She merely

2.5 again. Nate is still boring. Aaron is boring. Dan is annoying. Blair is going through a personal crisis and this time cut off all her hair. Serena is still just playing with her long blond hair all over NYC and being beautiful. Yet I can't stop reading this series! I think mainly coz I'm interested in how different it's turning out compared to the show. And now Georgina Sparks has appeared and I want to find out what she stirs up

The more the series goes on , it gets slightly more interesting. I do enjoy the books, but they are so short. I would be more interested in them if they were maybe 100 pages longer.

My Original Post

Warning: SPOILERS!

Hello Dear Readers! And Happy Lazy Sunday!

I'm at Scruff's this weekend but I thought I would break up the monotony of my weekend with one of the book reviews I promised you in this post. As most of you know, I was a huge fan of the Gossip Girl television series and I had been wanting to read the books. Well, I finally got a hold of them and started reading them at the end of January. I finished up book 11 recently and am finally ready to write out the review.

- Blair agrees to help be a peer group leader for a group of freshman in order to make her application stronger for Yale. She ends up with Jenny in her group, who technically stole Nate from her, but there are no hard feelings because Nate just dumped Jenny on NYE's and Blair feels like that's punishment enough. Peer group isn't super successful, because Serena's also a leader and instead of talking about things like body image or issues with school that the freshies are worried about, Serena sp ...more

Oh, how troublesome life can be on the Upper East Side? From what show to go to during this year’s Fashion Week, to early acceptances to universities, the seniors truly have only one thing to count on: parties. Yes because by this point there is nothing left for them to do. No clubs to sign up for, no fundraisers to impress the universities’ with, and no time for your parents’ to build a new wing for the library. The decision is out of their hands, leaving our group to focus on other things (exc ...more

Love, sex, and new relationships abound in the 4th installment of the Gossip Girl series and you can be sure that the rumor mill is overflowing during this season ...more

“It was so typical. Whenever Blair did anything nice for someone else, she usually regretted it.

Which kind of explained why she was such a bitch most of the time.”
“You know when you see a gorgeous boy on the street and you say to your friend, "Look at him!" and then your friend makes a face like, ugly? We all have such totally varied tastes that someone is going to look at you and think, yum-yum dee-lish, no matter what you think you look like. You just have to learn to see what they see. ” 172 likes
