My first book by Daniel Steel. I found it incredibly insightful and beautifully heartbreaking. Big words, but I mean them completely.
The summary here pretty much tells you how the story progresses. It follows the journey of Grace, a girl who is victimized and has endured far more than should be fair. Her strength and character are an important part of the story, and leave you inspired.
This book deals with abuse, both physical and mental. It captured my complete attention and didn't give me any t

It was just a traumatic yet engaging read. I have nothing much to ssay about it except that it's a typical Danielle Steel book.Sweet and beautiful heroine going through sad times all the time, very bad experiences, swoon worthy boy friend who respects women, marriage to a man older than her by at leasgt 20 years, more than two children,etc..

Since this is the first Danielle Steel novel I've ever read, I figured a brief review was necessary. Let me make one thing perfectly clear, right out of the gate. Ms Steel is a terrible writer. Yes, terrible. Fragments, run on sentences, and grammatically incorrect narratives abound. With that being said, Ms. Steel is a great storyteller (much in the same way that Sidney Sheldon is a horrific writer, but can spin a tale of deception, murder, and double crosses with a dab of back-stabbing like no ...more

Grace Adams is a woman with a past full of deep, dark, hurtful secrets. A stunning beauty, daughter of an influential lawyer, she has spent the last years nursing her dying mother through her final battle with cancer. On the night of her mother's funeral, she is brutally raped by her father and, after years of such repeated abuse, she snaps and kills him.

Only 17 years old, she faces the death penalty in a town that is only too willing to believe in and continually perpetrate the supposedly perf

Danielle Steel is a HUGE guilty pleasure for me. Her writing can be awful at times, but the smooth flow and quick pace of her plots can be thorougly enjoyable. So usually when I read Danny Steel, it's not for the literary merit or the substance of the story.

Malice was different.
I was interested to see how Steel would write on such a dark subject matter, but Malice impressed me.

Not only did she obviously do her research, but it actually felt like she had something to say. It wasn't an empty or ha

UGH!! i wish she was a better writer! i am probably the only person in america that doesn't like her writing, but there it is. the plots of her books are pretty good, predictable, but good. but i hate how her sentences describing things go on and on and on. i don't know why i read this book. honestly, i just needed something to occupy my mind as i sat out in the sun the yesterday.

This is my favorite book among all Daniel Steel's books up to date. Mostly her books represent the extreme of every issue pertaining our community giving them an unrealistic touch. Malice. though, on one hand representing the extreme of media's interference to ruin one's life also corresponds to the hardcore realities of incest cases in our society. Grace Adams a teenager of 17 is forced to kill her father while he attempted to rape her. As the story continues we learn that she was forced to for ...more

I don't understand why other people thought this book was terrible! I thought this was a great book, although there were some sentences that seemed like "run ons" to me. I make a lot of run ons though so I shouldn't say anything. Back on topic"." I know I am still very young, and I haven't developed a vast knowledge of what kind of books seem right for me, and what doesn't.. I literally thought this book was great! I wasn't really too keen on the idea of how Danielle went to a lot of detail of ...more

Danielle Steel é a única autora a quem eu perdoo a previsibilidade nos romances. É a única autora a quem eu perdoo a descrição exaustiva.

Every now and again, I am given a pile of books of a genre I do not buy. I think it is healthy to read some of these. Although hey are supposedly set in reality, they are often less believable than fantasy stories I prefer !!

I was so surprised with this one, honestly you would think that an author who has written so many books wouldn't forget a small but important detail...DNA testing, blood splatter analysis, scene of crime photos...etc Yep I've watched and read a few good crime series ad am no

This book has been out for years and I have never read anything by Danielle Steel before. I have to say I was impressed, although she is a very popular author I was not sure she would appeal to me. This book is full on, fast paced and one that is difficult to put down. Grace's character gets to you right from the start and you are vying for her all the way to the bitter end. Her story is full of horror, hurt and she certainly has more than her fair share of hardship. So much so, that when she me ...more

This has to be my favorite Daniele Steel book.

The novel starts with a 17 year-old girl wrapping up from her mother's funeral with her father. Her father is a respectable lawyer in a small town whom everyone absolutely loves. Inside the home, he is an abusive and sadistic father and hustband. The last straw for his daughter was the night of her mommy's funeral - he rapes her once again and she shoots him...

The story takes off from there. After the first three chapters, the book takes off into her

What an amazing story of Grace. A victim since the age of 13 and victimized her entire life from her Father, to employer, etc. How she overcame her past, paid it forward to others. From a small town in Illinoies, to Women's Prison, to a career in NYC to Washington. A story of strength and overcoming what life hands you. Love, loved this story. I'd like to meet someone as caring as Charles McKenzie. Friends and the people in your life with help you through your worst nightmare , once you let them ...more

This was, like so, bad because, she does not, understand the use of the comma. Or the sentence fragment. Or plot. I read it on a plane and left it in a laundromat.

Grace Adams was abused by her father, almost nightly, for four years. On the night of her mother's funeral, after more abuse, she shot and killed him. Danielle Steel tells Grace's compelling story of survival and ultimate triumph!

I first read MALICE in 1997, and have reread it several times since. From the first read, it became one of my favorite Danielle Steel novels because it captures so many aspects of the human condition--abuse, betrayal, depravity, murder, malicious revenge, triumph, love,

Firstly i thought oh another thriller that goes out of reality making the picture look bigger than it actually was..... but then the end was so beautifully written, heartbreaking and left you with a feeling of hopefulness. A book so strong, it takes you on a very long jurney, from being a a mentally broken kid , being used and broken all your life from wicked people, to finding hope, happiness and love in life.
A book of wisdom, fightinh against evil and and still being good and pure ... LOVED IT

I used to read Danielle Steel books in my late teens/early 20s but stopped for some unknown reason. Malice must be the first one I've read for about 25 years and I'd forgotten how much I love DS's stories. So pleased I picked this one up, I'm definitely going to get back into these books. I know they're always a happy ending, but it was such a good ride to get there.

I was honestly very disappointed by this book. I received two recommendations for it, singing its praises as being highly unforgettable. It was my first Danielle Steele, and from a such well known author, I was expecting much more. The writing style drove me nuts from the beginning- Steele makes the elementary mistake of constantly telling, not showing. I found the protagonist, Grace, to be unreal and frankly boring. Everything in the universe goes against her, she is a constant victim of circum ...more
