This money saving package includes Mosby's Radiography Radiologic Physics, 2e, Radiologic Science for Technologists, 9e, and Workbook and Lab Manual for Radiologic Science for Technologists, 9e.
Very clearly written in an organized fashion, laying out in a structured manner the principles of X-Ray machines. Unfortunately, the book has out of date material, basically all film processes can be discarded, and things need to be rewritten for the digital era and modern digital workflows. Leaving the film material in only serves to confuse the reader as out of date methods are irrelevant. Also very weak is the section on digital detectors, even though certainly sufficient time has passed that there should be readily available conclusions for new strategies of employing them.
It would have been better to include a short chapter on workflows and overall equipment and technique considerations in one location and not interspersed through the text, and some additional information on digital pre-processing and post-processing would be most welcome. Also, the section on generators and AEC is lacking as well, as it seems modern day Radiology equipment has automated and computerized so much that capturing the image almost seems as straightforward and easy as taking pictures with a cell phone..... also the new software virtual grids and their utility in replacing traditional grids could be added.
However, for basic principles of X-ray operation, I haven't found a more lucid text.
Buena información sobre la física de los rayos x, del equipo y de la radio protección. Excelente para radiografías pero me hubiese gustado más información sobre tomografía computada. Material esencial para cualquier trabajador del área del radiodiagnostico. Bushong siempre es Recomendado.
