This book, while attempting to be inspirational, has a wonderful positive yet practical perspective, fails to educate, at least to me.

It boils down to nothing more than exercise, take your vitamins, and eat correctly. It says nothing different than most of the other menopause writings I've been found.

Being a cheerleader for women going through a challenging time has value. But I didn't find any information in this book that I didn't already have.

Picked this up from the library. It has all sorts of information, touches on lots of topics, but some not as deeply as others. 1/4 of the book was worksheets for setting goals, recording and charting, recipes and recipe recording, none of which are my thing.

This is a good starter book to determine what areas will challenge you. My main takeaway was: menopause is a new life chapter with both positives and challenges. Each woman has her own issues and mindset to work with. Take personal responsibility for charting your course.

I received this through the Goodreads Firs tReads program. The Menopause Makeover is a valuable resource for the person who wants to understand and prepare for menopause. The tone is friendly, the format accessible, and the information is extensive, practical and nicely organized. Women and the people they live with should benefit greatly from this book.

Nothing useful in this book. Just eat right and exercise. Nothing useful for me.

Amazingly good book, written partly by a Richmond doctor and referred to me by another Richmond doctor. I wish I had read it years ago as it has a wealth of information on every topic related to aging (skin, weight, hydration, exercise, vitamins, medicine, spirituality). However a menopause makeover party with a theme? Are you kidding me? I'd be laughed out of my 'hood. But overall, a good book which gives you a lot to think about, and a lot of tools to make "grown up" changes.

I won this book through the Goodreads First Reads program and I'm glad I did because I may not have known about this book otherwise.

What I liked most about this book is that it's active. There are loads of checklists, charts (including calculations to help find your healthy weight and amount of calories you should consume to maintain a healthy weight) and spots for reflective journaling. I'm an "action-oriented" person. I like to set goals, plan and take very specific steps to acheive those goals. Some of the information provided in the book isn't new or different but it's very well presented, and having read all the information provided I feel ready to face menopause. The book motivated me to pay even more attention to my exercise and healthful eating regime. Although I'm a "normal" weight I am more determined than ever to keep track of the calories I consume daily to make sure they are coming from healthy food and I also realized that I need to add a little more cardio exercise to my daily routine. In addition to the physical goals I've set for myself I've also learned the importance of daily meditation, which I plan to work into my schedule.

I would recommend this book to all women over the age of 35.

The truth hurts, but it's nice to know that "I'M NOT CRAZY". I've been looking for an easy to read (and share with my man) guide about the transitions a woman's body goes through during these probably 15 years (pre-thru-post menopause). this book talks about everything necessary to keep your sanity regarding proper diet, exercise, spirituality, sexuality and beauty.

Really? All we have to do to get through this is eat right, exercise and see our doctor if we have questions? Thanks. I think I have that covered. This book was not helpful in anyway.

It gave a great insight as to what happens in your body during menopause.
