If he says black, she says white...

Lindsay Fox and Nathan Fisher couldn't be more different. In fact, she knew after her one-year stint with the NYPD, she'd driven her former partner as crazy as he'd driven her. He was even part of the reason she left the force, although she'd never admit that to him! So she's more than a little surprised when Nathan answers her ad for a new investigator.

Working together now they discover a delicious chemistry beneath their differences. Could they actually become more than partners? Then they take on the challenge of an unusual case - one that reminds Lindsay of her own painful past. Her instinct is to push Nathan away. But can she take a bigger risk and let him in?

This was a good book. I liked the characters and the plot. The personalities were good, the story moved along pretty well, there were plenty of emotions, a little suspense, some steaminess, some rough patches, and a good ending. This is something to read for passing time or just for something to read. I wouldn't mind reading more in this series though. Interesting and has some spunk but not quite a page-turner. Pretty good.

I was looking forward to getting involved in another series by Carmichael but this one didn't hit the right spots for me. I didn't care for Linsay's issues and the push and pull of the romance as it felt to formulaic. The 'mystery' was fairly standard issue also

Couldn't make it through this one. A little dry for my taste and so much internal thoughts about each other through the first 80 pages... I just couldn't anymore.
