Next, you'll learn how to customize the modules SugarCRM comes with out of the box in an upgrade-safe manner. The text then presents an example application that a typical business might use and shows how to build it using SugarCRM, using both existing functionality as well as newly added functionality.

Great resource but be careful...this guide is much more on the technical side of SugarCRM programming versus what the user can expect and use...two different world's.

I'd like to see John write more of a User's Guide because his approach and writing style would assist the daily user in their understanding.

Of course as I learned, depending on how your company uses SugarCRM and in what instance, will determine your ability to learn what you need to know...yet another world!?!?
