How To Give Up Shopping (Or At Least Cut Down): The Journey Back To Conscious Spending

Rate this book
The key to financial success—spend less and save more—is relatively simple, but putting that idea into practice can be exceedingly difficult, especially for the shopaholic. Neradine Tisaj knows from experience: when she tried to quit her shopping-heavy lifestyle, no one could offer her advice that worked. Determined to both enjoy life and save money, Neradine devised a plan to find a way back to conscious, healthy spending without forgoing a busy social life. Packed with truly helpful tips and entertaining anecdotes, this is the ideal resource for building a sound financial portfolio while still allowing for the occasional indulgence.

This was a very short and quick read. While it was entertaining and insightful, the author’s personal situation and experiences aren’t the same as mine so her tips and suggestions weren’t all that helpful or practical for me. A lot of it was just common sense or things I already knew anyway.
Someone needs to write a version of this book that is specific to book lovers and people with a book buying addiction!

Easy and very quick read with practical tips. Thankful that my situation is not nearly as dire as the author’s, but as someone who wants to cut down on buying, this was a good blueprint to start. However I agree with the other reviewers that there was nothing too revolutionary in here, but still: good reminders.

While this was an entertaining read, it still didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know. I commend the author for bravely discussing her shopping addiction with the world. While it was humorous in some parts, it all just basically came down to common sense. Well that I what I got from the overall story.

Although I enjoyed reading this book, I wouldn't say I learnt anything new from reading it!

Saying that would I recommend it? Yes I would, as it was a light, easy, quick read and slightly interesting!
