What a brilliant story! A lovely way to show a journey which a girl (Kyla), her brother and dad took to her granny's. A present that they are to give to her granny nearly got lost several times. With every page being read, you wait for the present to get lost and then just by luck they either find it or someone gives it back to them. The number of times Kyla's dad tells her to keep it in 'A safe place' then finally he loses it himself, but thanks to Kyla putting it in a safe place, the present gets to her granny. It has beautiful illustrations and you could almost read the book without the words. I had the urge to want to skip pages to find out if the present does get there in the end!

I think this book shows how (when given responsibility) children can and do step up to it. It also shows that mistakes do happen and not to worry about them too much, they sometimes have a way of fixing themselves! It's a number of books that I have read that can be for KS1 and KS2, with emphasis on the pictures the journey that kyla takes to her granny's for KS1 and late KS1, KS2 there can be emphasis on the journey, and relating it to their own journeys.
