Good basics and exercises for better understanding

I have not done much programming other than years ago so I was interested in learning some basics and understanding of what languages are being used currently. Python was one of these so when this book came across my screen I grabbed it and hoped it would be good. I did get a good basis in Python and I liked the exercises. Plus what was really good was the fact that the author takes the reader through installing the program. I hate when computer books just assume that you already have a program installed even though there can be multiple versions, different install features and functionalities which are required to follow along. I have not made it through the entire book yet but what I have so far is good, easy to understand for the most part and nicely written.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I am a beginner with respect to programming and do not have a particularly technical background: I know almost no math though I know formal logic pretty well. I was interested in learning something about computer programming for fun and have looked through several books about many languages. I even spent some time with C before I decided on Python. To an absolute beginner, it seemed a relatively intuitive language without some messy detail required by C, for example, memory allocation. I chose this book simply because it looked fun and very clear. Each chapter is nicely written and easy to understand. The examples are clear, and the exercises are all achievable from what you've learned in the chapters so far. In fact, they are designed to reinforce what you've learned, so don't think because you've seen a better way online not yet covered in the book you are not learning, if so then you've missed the point. If you stick with this book, it will give you a good grasp of basic Python, which you can do some powerful stuff with.

Best of luck !! Go on buy it now :)
