It was an okay book. This book is great for making the child interact and pay attention to the book. There's some counting involved in English and in Spanish, and things you have to find to help Dora be on her way (you find them by pointing, it's really simple). The book also has some Spanish words or phrases, but I found them easy to pronounce and understand what they meant (from context clues if you don't know any Spanish). The illustrations are your typical Dora illustrations like the other books and her show.

This book was enjoyable for the children and had interactive things for them to do which made it more interesting. Nice colorful pictures also.

I read this to my brother and he really liked. Not only did he like it I think this is the best Dora book I have read to him. It's is Dora's Moms birthday and Dora wants to make a cake for her. Her dad is going to help her. First Dora has to go to the banana trees and get some bananas. That is no problem because her best friend Boots is a monkey. Boots helps him with getting the banana. Next she has to get chocolate for the top of the cake. She goes to a chocolate tree and the way she gets the chocolate is she has to sing, "Bata Bata chocolate" four times. Dora got the chocolate and her dad already baked the cake. Together they finish the cake and Dora's Mom is really happy.

I think everyone should read this to there younger siblings because it's a good book for them.

I liked this better than most of the insipid Dora books because it is more interactive; the child gets to do something with almost every page: choose the correct recipe card, say "map," count, point to the chocolate tree, etc., and the plot actually makes sense, because they are finding and collecting things they actually need to make an actual cake, rather than jumping through random, bizarre hoops to achieve a fantastical goal. Both of my kids enjoyed this one, and even my littlest (20 months) was able to do many of the "activities." This is probably my favorite of the Dora books I have been compelled to read my children.

This book is about Dora making a banana nut chocolate cake for her Mami. She makes the cake with her Papi. Papi is a Spanish word for Papi. Her Mami said it's delicioso. Then Dora says, "Happy Mother's Day, Mami!" - Felicity
