The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney is hilarious! Greg Heffley, the wimpy kid and main protagonist of the story, has a pretty normal life...for the most part. This middle-schooler's life includes all of the following:
- extremely annoying neighbors
- mean dumb bullies
- an intensely annoying mother
- an occasionally irritating best friend
- an always provoking older brother
- a lousy dog
...and more awful stuff (from Greg's point of view).
The book is mainly funny because all of the bad

I picked this series up because my 9-year-old was reading it and loving it and I like to read what interests him. I'd really like to give it 2.5 stars, but I am going to give it the benefit of the whole star system. All four books are written journeal style from the point of view of a sixth grader "wimp" named Greg. It's actually pretty cleverly written and very funny and I found myself laughing out loud a lot. Funny because of the TRUTH of it. If you haven't comepletely blocked out middle ...more

I really enjoyed these books because they are very funny and enjoyable. They might seem like books for little kids but when you actually read and understand the books, they are really for adults. They talk about real life situations that a typical nerdy kid goes through on a daily basis. I love when Greg (the kid telling his story in the book) says when dad is mad, he usually throws whatever is closest to him. Then it lead to show dad with a newspaper in his hand and it said Good time to make ...more
I read all of these four books. I thought that they were very good. My favorite part of these books are that they are funny. I would recomend these books. They are more for little kids though. I still enjoyed them though.
My favorite out of all four of the is the yellow book named "Dog Days". Even though I have a favorite I like all of them. I know that a lot of people have already read these books. But if you havent you should really take the time to sit down and read them. I think that anyone

The series was a good series and would reccomend this book to anybody. the series is just about a kid who is having trouble in middldle school just like most middle schoolers. he wants to be popular and have a girlfreind and be the coolest. he has a freind named Rowley who acts like a 4th grader and is holding greg back but by the end of this series you will see why

Diary of a Wimpy Kid. New York: Amulet Books, 2005. Print.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about a kid named Greg Heflley who is in middle school. His goal for the book, which is a mock dairy, is to be popular in junior high school. It talks of all of his incidents and events from his point and view. He is never wronged and always has some one else to blame for the things that happen in his book.
The book is done in half illustration and half text. It very much looks like a childs diary with messy

I think this series is a great series because this author puts a lot of his own life into these novels. These novels for kids can also relate to some of the lives that kids have in real life. In this book a kid goes through like a diary writing about each and everything he does in his life through each month to. Like he would write what his mom said to him each night and what happens in school.

Diary of wimpy kid complete 4-book set is one of my recent readings. After finishing the set, I felt that our lives are actually full of funny things from the Greg's diary, only lacking discoveries and notes.
Greg, the chief actor, is a normal American teen, and he has an old brother, named Rodrick, who always makes fun to him. He has a younger brother, named Manny, who is spoiled by their parents. His father is a snack-thief. His wish is that his boys could become men, but he was disappointed

All of these books are wonderful books they are funny and are addicting. These books are great for middle school or maybe even some elementary students. I finished each boom in less the a week and they occupied my time will I was reading them. Jeff Kinney maybe an adult but he has a mind of a middle schooler. He made reading so fun for me and encouraged me to keep reading. I suggest you read the books first then watch the movies, the book will make you not only know what's going on in the movie ...more
this is a very good collection of books and keeps you reading all day... he learns how hard middle school is and how to survive...he faces many challenges and learns many things along the way...can gregg keep it up or will he just fall...

I used to love this book series, and am thankful to say that I still do.
This series is a terrific romp inside the mind of a tween. The "Wimpy Kid" is Gregory, who reluctantly takes up a pen and journal (not a DIARY) on his mom's suggestion in exchange for getting out of a Saturday chore. Gregory approaches the journal writing with a perfect tween attitude: my mom is not going to read it, so I can write whatever I want to. As any 7th grader might, he is frank in his observations and by incorporating stick-figure cartoon drawings throughout the books, Gregory's ...more

These books have some great illistrations. They go well with the theme of the book and ther is not a part of the book where you feel bored and want to stop reading. The meaning of this story also is really amazing and it shows how to stand up to yourself and in some books it may tell you not to lie and listen to your parents.

This is a pretty funny series, let me tell you that. While Greg is, as if, an anti-hero of these stories, he still proves to be a great, though quite smug, story-teller. Once my 9 y.o. sister read the first one, she instantly got hooked, and wanted to complete the collection. Great read.

I'm a 5th grader teacher and I read this series because my students were reading them outside of our reading class. They are great...very clever and really funny. I recommend this series to upper elementary students.

This review is by my third grader:

4.5 stars.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are about a boy named Greg and his best friend Rowley who go to school together. They try to find ways to get girls to like them. It always ends up being weird.

For example, one time Greg found an old piece of cheese on the blacktop. To impress the girls with his bravery, he bragged to everyone that he ate it. Instead, teenagers picked up the cheese and forced Rowley to eat it. Because Greg touched the cheese, he got
