About the author

Phil Maggitti is a freelance writer and editor who lives in southeastern Pennsylvania with his wife, four cats, two pug dogs, a Boston terrier, and a life-size poster of Bob Marley.

He has written eight books and more than eight hundred articles since quitting his day job in 1982.

Although Mr. Maggitti has written on a variety topics for numerous publications, the majority of his work has explored the points at which the lives of animals and people intersect.

Bulldogs can have the courage of a lion, the friendliness of a Disney character, the loyalty of a Marine, and the dignity of a spinster dowager. Bulldogs gives a history of the breed and discusses the joys and discomforts of having one as a companion. There are excellent sections on selection and training that can apply to any breed. Included was a DVD on training. Overall an excellent and informative book for anyone interested in the breed that is written in easy to understand language.

I enjoyed this book very much. I believe that this is a "must read" for any "bully" owner. I know that I learned things that I did not know about the care of a bulldog. Yes, I would highly recommend this book.

I liked this book. It had some trainingt tips that actually made sense to me. Let's hope that I stick to them and that they work (especially the potty training ones).

Being a bulldog owner and loving this breed I love everything bulldog so I buy a lot of bulldog books and I have to say I haven't read a bad bulldog book yet love them all
