Welcome to the world of visualization--where children learn to learn better, achieve more and build confidence. What happens when the formal school years hit? Why do so many struggle in school, a place where their curiosity should be encouraged to grow? Too many children are frustrated with the basic academic subjects--reading, writing, spelling and math. Your child may become a master of avoiding tasks, stressed or anxious or have a behavioral problem. No more.
With Dr. Hellerstein's pioneering book, See It. Say It. Do It!, your child will discover a whole new world. Action will be taken in all areas of his or her life by:
* Becoming more confident *Creating strategies to overcome obstacles and barriers *Being successful in school & sports *Developing a joy for learning *Enhancing sports performance
Imagine your child reading and writing for fun! Enjoy learning spelling words and math facts through visualization strategies. Teach your child how to effectively prepare for test and stressful competitions. Give your child a gift for life. See It. Say It. Do It!; offers the tools and strategies that will improve and empower performance levels. It will inspire and transform you and your child. Both of you will be celebrating with a huge TA-DAH!
A pioneer in vision therapy and developmental optometry, for more than 30 years Dr. Hellerstein, has helped thousands of children and adults improve their vision and transform their lives — at home, in the classroom, and most recently on the playing field. Her breakthrough methods unlock barriers to learning and “rewire” around brain injuries, and perceptual or processing deficits. But you don’t have to have a vision problem to benefit: her strategies may be the missing magic if you’re an athlete trying to nail a tricky shot or stay cool in competition. If it’s a skill you can visualize, Dr. Hellerstein can help train your eyes — and mind’s eye — on success.
Dr. Hellerstein has extensive professional publications to her credit, but witnessing the joy of her patients overcoming a learning barrier or meeting a sports goal put her on a mission: to deliver her methods into a form that could reach a wide audience of parents and educators, to help more kids and more athletes. Her award-winning series, SEE IT. SAY IT. DO IT!®, is the happy result.
It had some good ideas and activities, but it became a victim of its purpose. I got overwhelmed with so many suggestions that I didn't know where to begin. Besides, I felt it needed to give more advice for parents of teens as they are often more vocal and protest trying such things than younger children and adults. I would've liked to see more activities for vision therapy.
Great parenting book--especially for the reluctant reader, learner, or dreamer! Great behavioral science and practical too! Ideas for helping children deal with stressful situations, shyness, motivation, etc.
