A whole chapter on Charlottesville (and environs)! But sadly, not many food recommendations. When I told friends I was visiting Charlottesville, every last one of them gave me ONLY food recommendations, and every place I tried was fantastic. (I did not get through the dozens of recommendations in a mere 2 days!) So when this book only has a smattering of ideas, I find that odd.
I appreciated the note about the "Presidents' Pass," which wasn't really advertised at any of the places I visited. I also liked the time recommendations the book provides to know about how long Monticello and Ash Lawn take. (History buff that I am, I spent far longer, but it was nice to know ahead of time that it's perfectly possible to do both--and do them thoroughly--in just a day.)
