The assassins are dead but an invisible enemy still lurks in the peaceful island nation known as the Vampire Bund. As the loyal lycanthrope Akira struggles to protect his queen, Mina Tepes, ruler of all vampires, fear and chaos descend upon the Bund. A plague of nanomachines has taken over and no vampire is safe. Time is running out and Akira must uncover an assassination plot and the true identity of the culprit before it is too late. Dance in the Vampire Bund is an ongoing manga series that features stunning artwork and an enthrallingly original supernatural narrative.
Dance in The Vampire Bund is a vampire manga that I happened to catch the short series on Netflix a few years ago. The anime never had an end so I’m hoping to get one by reading the manga. Mina Tepes is the vampire ruler even though she has the body of a 9 year old girl. Her guardians are the earth clan a pack of werewolves and she’s taken a fancy to one young shifter Akira making him her companion. The Vampire Bund has been created at last offering a safe place to all the vampires they just have to be oathed to Mina the vampire. However someone is determined that Mina won’t lead and is attempting to have her killed. Thankfully she has Akira by her side even though I think Mina can take just about anyone. She’s also wanting to start sending the vampire children to the school where Akira was attending claiming it was built with the intention of teaching both. However the students as well as vampires aren’t so thrilled and things run rapid.
In the 8th installment they have survived that attack from the Pied Piper but now other vampires are turning up infected. A vampire is slaying all vampire it thinks are infected with the Pied Piper. A new werewolf has arrived in town with different ideals of how werewolves should live. Mina has a lot on her hands.
I find Mina an intriguing character even though she’s an ancient vampire trapped she’s in the body of a young girl which makes her seem weaker. I have a feeling she’s a lot more than the girl she appears to be at least so I far and I’m curious to see how she evolves. Not sure how I feel about Akira I’ve got some mixed feelings about him at the moment. I see a potential love match but hopefully Mina will grow up a little physically.
I watched the anime on Netflix but it didn’t really have a ending and that was a few years ago so I’m hopping to see how it will play out. I like the art some of the detailing is well done. The concept is interesting the idea of building a vampire city for them all to live in seems to work protecting the vampires as well as the humans. Mina is an interesting character who’s quickly growing on me with each page. The story is face paced flowing smoothly along. I’m looking forward to seeing how it will all play out at last. I’m quickly finding the series addicting it’s hard to put down the more I read the more I want to know how it’s going to play out next.
Wow a lot happened in these chapters with the reveal of a possibly gay villain which is weird and they never explicit with that but it is kind of obvious with they way he speaks, his motivations, his dialogue, and his final actions that he is gay. Also nice world building and decent red herring in this chapter also some good plot developments.
In this episode of Dance in the Vampire Bund, we learn of Akira's past. It effects both the present and future in the story as well. The enemies of the Bund are becoming apparent as well.
Este tomo sí que ha sido bueno. Casi nada de fanservice, y una trama de quién ha atacado a Yuki muy interesante. Tengo ganas de ver cómo continúa la historia de Akira y Mina.
This volume is a heart breaker and not completely in a good way. Things get worse for Hime- Sama. She learns that Li’s clan of vampires is badly infected by Pied Piper and a group of them are looking for asylum as Li is summarily killing anyone he suspects is infected. They are led by a werewolf-bred woman, Sanin’s sister, Tatiana, whom everyone thought was dead.
It’s rapidly obvious that she has a huge problem with Akira and with werewolves in general. She hates how her society works. She relates this to anyone who’ll listen, including Akira’s friends Yuki, Ryohei and Angie. This becomes a poisonous act that will cost Akira someone he cares about dearly. To top everything off, Akira’s baby brother, Yuuhi, has been brought to the bund and Akira is horrified. His father refuses to explain why and Akira tries to scare Yuuhi off because he doesn’t want his kid brother to have to have the hard life of a werewolf protector.
As mentioned earlier, this is a heart wrenching volume. However, I felt the motivations that lead to the ruin are thin and poorly set up. It was hard to believe it actually, and I felt cheated. The art was wonderful as always and the cover was exploitive. Sigh.
As far as the growth of characters, and plot development and twists go, this is easily the best volume in the series thus far. I have read the series up to volume 9 a long time ago, and I couldn't remember much of anything from this volume, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how well all of the plot twists were written and how much the author/artist can control the emotions of their readers! A really great addition to the series!
This story has new twists with every volume and the characters develop more and more each time. I like the way things are developing and that we are learning about the characters. Definitely a manga that is slow getting into with first volume but once you are in you have to read them all.
Little Yuuhi finally makes an appearance and he is showing signs of lycanthropy!!! Adorable, even protecting his big brother!
The sudden arrival of Sanin's supposedly deceased sister with refuges from Li's empire had the gang in quite a bind. Didn't like her, still don't... She don't have the appeal like Hama-san. Maybe she will next time!
It's alright Akira. Angie was not meant to be as he only had eyes for you and jealousy got the better of him. Your friends are safe, so is Mina and little Yuuhi!
It was interesting to find out the mating ritual in order to conceive a lycan. And the emotional and physical draining/ endurance on the mothers part. It explains so much on how these Earth clan members, so gallant yet solitude engulfs them in different ways.
