If he chose Carrie to be his partner it would dissolve his inner fears of everything that came with an alternative lifestyle. Ronnie hated conflict. All he wanted was for life to be easy, to be happy, to have a baby, and that included enjoying the devotion of his best friend. Was that too much for any man to ask? Unfortunately it was. And jealousy and doubt began to rear its ugly head.

I feel that gay fiction writers should warn the readers when there is het scenes involved, so that we don't start questioning if we've bought the wrong genre half way through the book.

While I personally didn't like the character dynamics, the sex scenes were plentiful and varied to whet the appetite.

Since this was a blind read without any prior knowledge to the contents, my opinion initially based off the title and cover were extremely misled, considering they have all but nothing to do with the content and partially lead the reader to believe this is potentially a paranormal fiction, which it most certainly isn't.

The whole book felt like a battle between a person with too much ego and pressure, vs a person hell bent on true love with random bouts of crippling doubt.

There should have been an epilogue, since while the ending summed up the main points, it was abrupt and left several nagging points, such as eventual dynamics and the issues of "coming out" and the family pressure that had been there throughout most of the book, increasing considerably at the end, but remaining without a conclusion. Apart from a throwaway comment that held no meaning since the main character flip flopped on his firm decisions he made throughout the whole book.

Nowhere near as bad as Hauser's Pirate, but pretty irritating as hell (Pirate was beyond horrible, and this is a piece of heaven in comparison). All characters were idiotic and clueless(the girl's an idiot, though I liked her relationship with her adoptive brother...beside her using him...sort of). Heath is a settler, and not in a good way (is there a good way? Hm.) not to mention that he's just as irritating as Ronny...and Ronny is a bastard, plain and simple.
I hated them ALL! And I hated their non relationship, and I hated the lying and denial and the stringing along and false bi-ness. UGH! The only good thing about this WHOLE book was the sex. The sex made reading worthwhile. To an extent. Yeah. Lots of hot sex in this! Wooh!
That boob Ronny being a dedicated bottom was the hottest part! OMG!

usually i love books by G.A. Hauser. sometimes they irk me, most of the times they are just freaking perfect. so i buy this book as paperback and don't think about it.

well, it was so wrong on so many levels. FOR ME. i don't want to criticize. IT JUST WASN'T FOR ME. but it was like a train wreck. i just couldn't put it down and stop reading.

I like the book about a man who leaves a woman for another man. This book disappointed me.
