this book is not something i would choose but i am venturing out into different books and genres and this book is nice to read. Its nice because it can teach kids about different animals such as manatees and the dangers they face and teach them that they have the ability to make a difference when they grow up and the illustrations are great to look at while reading.

A wonderful book about manatees. The art is lovely and my favorite part of the book! The information presented in a great narrative format as it follows a mother and calf as they travel. The many issues that manatees face with changing habitats and people invading their space.

I like this series, but this one falls short. The kids expect to learn about manatees, but this book is just about evil humans. I get that we need to preserve habitats but my little kids aren't to blame. They just think manatees are cute. Purged.

In this well done picture book for younger children, the author uses a story of a manatee and his mother to introduce a slew of non-fiction information about manatees, their life cycle, habitat and the environmental challenges facing these aquatic mammals. Children will be attracted to the plight of manatees through the illustrations and the informative storyline.

This is not my favorite let's read and find out science book. I was looking for a book about manatees. This book focus' on the loss of their habitat as suggested by the title.
