Absolutely beautiful book showcasing the traditional art of stone carving in Bali. The photographs of the sculptures is what gives the book its power, and the accompanying historical background and descriptions of the art from the author complete the visual journey.

Stoned Images by Hans Hoefer (Dutton 1978)(730.959). This is a beautiful collection of photographs of Balinese stone carvings. It's extremely trippy. My rating: 8/10, finished 1980.
