We were 6 when Colt saved my life. Not for one second could I deny the bond that formed between us after that. Truth be told, it scared the hell out of me. Who meets their soul mate before learning to drive their first pick-up truck? So, I ran. Yet years later, when a tragic accident lands me in the hospital, he’s right back by my side and refusing to budge. I know I messed up when I left him. Is a second chance even possible? Or does the cowboy womanizer now enjoy a new filly each night too much to resign himself to one saddle? I knew at 10 I was going to marry her. We would run the ranch together and fill our lives with sticky-faced kids and prize-winning cattle. When I thought of the future, all I saw was her. Then, she vanished. Heart shattered, I paid little mind to the rumors spreading like wildfire about me through the small town gossip mill. Until I finally faced the second chance I had been praying for. Now, I’ll do whatever it takes to prove to her there’s no truth to the playboy rumors, and that what we have is worth the risk. Slide into the saddle and gallop into this sizzlin’ cowboy romance set in the kind of small town that treasures porch swings and sweet tea! This is a steamy cowboy romance and the second book in my Rock Springs Texas series. Each book can be read as a standalone but as always better together. Follow these 5 protective cowboys as they find their cowgirls. This book may have some trigger points centering around abuse but it is what makes these characters strong and protective. Plus justice is always served! Readers 18+, please. Rock Springs Texas Series

3,5 ⭐️ Sage abs Colt have been best friends since they were kids, and they’ve been in love since they were teens, but sadly they life got in the way. Now 7 years after they broke up they decided that there’s no running away from their feelings. If you’re looking for a sweet book, with low angst, read this one.
“There’s a reason everyone loves cowboys. The hard. Manual labor gives them a body that I just want to sink my teeth into.”
Sage & Colt met at a very young age and since then have been through hell and back together. They’ve always stuck by each other’s sides through the good times and bad—that is until Sage decides that things must be too good to be true and runs.
After being separated for two years neither one can seem to get their mind off of the other despite who they date to try to fill the void. Finding your soulmate so early in life... it couldn’t be that easy, right? Or could it...
When Sage comes back in town to not only buy, but work on a ranch with the rest of the family she is faced with the decision to forgive and forget or to move on from Colt completely and start anew.
I liked Sage as a our main character in the first few pages when she came out gun blazing! She reminds me of Miranda Lambert in the video “Kerosene.” She’s a badass that doesn’t take any crap! “...I grab my gun, bullets, and keys to the ranch truck.”
I also enjoyed they other characters as well, Megan and Hunter, Riley and Blaze, Abby; Jason and would like to carry on with the series and see where their romances/lives take them.
This is a second change friend romance that doesn’t disappoint. The sex scenes are steamy and the tension is built-up for a while as they spend most of their time reminiscing and apologizing in the beginning of the story.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
Thank you to StoryOrigin and to Kaci Rose for providing me an ARC Copy in exchange for an honest review.
The reason why this story was not a 5 star read for me: CONTAINS SPOILERS
1. The repetition- “you’re the only one for me”, “I only want you”, “it’s always been you” were said over and over and over. The scavenger hunt could’ve gone must faster, as most of that was drawn out as well. The conversations with the parents and family about their getting back together was almost exactly the same a few days later when Colt was asking about the proposal. The family’s answers were very much the same as the first conversation.
2. The dynamic that they both have the same adoptive “Mom and Dad” is a little strange, but only because they keep referring to them as mom and dad together, like they’re actual siblings.
3. The drama was juvenile and unnecessary in most cases. For instance: calling the cops at the bar when nothing even that bad had been done, being nasty to the nurse and threatening to report her to her supervisor, threatening Kellie to get out of the bar and flaunting their engagement, etc.
4. There were a lot of aspects that were very far-fetched. Involving the police and FBI within a few days to check into the church is a bit of a stretch, teens carrying guns and Sage murdering two men was not very believable either.
I went along with most of this because I was going into this wanting a sexy romance and I did get that.
SAGE IS LIKE A CHARACTER IN THE OLD WEST, SHE'S HAD TWO SHOOT OUTS & KNIFE FIGHT AND I'M ONLY AT 7%. SAGE JUMPS TO CONCLUSIONS FAST AND GOES OFF HALF COCKED TOO EASY. IT GOT KINDA DRAGGY OFF AND ON THEN BORING, THEN CORNY. REPETATIVE AND JUST SEEMED TO LACK A SPARK WITH UNBELIEVABLE DIALOG. THE STORY OF THEIR LIVES WAS TOLD & RETOLD TOO MANY TIMES. ;<
I love the trauma bond and I want a Colt in my life soooo bad, but the book glazed over events keeping it fairly short. I wish the book was just longer!!
It’s no wonder everyone loves a cowboy! All that muscle just waiting to be worshiped. Again and Again and Again.
I enjoyed this book very much. Sage and Colt are definitely characters you can fall for quickly. They’re friends who become lovers without realizing when that happened. They then fall away from each other and are brought back together by love, family and some pretty crazy circumstances. Colt is a swoon worthy cowboy who has a bad boy reputation. Great start right? Definitely. He’s kind, loving, sexy, sweet and delicious all wrapped up in one muscular package. WoWZAme, I want him.
Sage is a tough cowgirl who knows who she is and she doesn’t need a man to prove her worth. She has a way with horses and she is full of confidence. Yet she can be tender when necessary. She’s the inner tough girl we all hope we have somewhere inside. And Colt’s the man who’s crazy about her since childhood. He’s the boy you look for when you search your own childhood memories of friends and see if maybe you had a Colt somewhere in your past. A girl can dream.
There’s a woman in this book who plays a perfect villain. And ladies, we ALL have one of those women in our past, maybe even our present. She’s very well written and I found myself loving her character. Just because she was so true to character of “that woman”. She doesn’t have many appearances but when she’s there, she’s there! Great job on her Kaci Rose.
All of that being said, when I started this book, I hadn’t read the 1st book in the series. I wish I would have. There’s a lot of things that happen to this family before you even get to Sage and Colt’s story. And they are pretty key moments that define and explain a lot of the relationship between Sage, Colt and the rest of the family. I was hopelessly lost for a good chunk of this story because I didn’t know the history. Kaci Rose does a good job of flashing back and filling in some of the holes, unfortunately it’s a shortened down version of the original because, well, that’s another story. She has done a nice thing by including in the back of this book a FREE novella; Sage & Colt – The Beginning, if you sign up for her newsletter. I also recommend getting the novella. It put their actual story into more perspective and I enjoyed it as well.
The family is full of hot men and strong women. You get a glimpse of each of them in this book but I’m definitely going to go back to the beginning and pick up the first book in the Rock Spring Texas series.
So readers, grab pillow and snuggle up with your favorite blanket. You’re in for a fun read with some characters that you’ll wish were in your own life every day.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Why I liked this story more than the first one, I am not sure. Colton Evans Buchanan and Sage Ella-Rose Buchanan
Don't you love a guy who orders your food for you and knows exactly what you want? Colt knows Sage so well, ordering meatloaf with extra gravy and sweet tea was perfect. She leans in and gives him a kiss.
How about that ice cream from Dairy Queen - nothing better than Mint Chocolate Chip Blizzard for Colt and Double Fudge Cookie Dough Blizzard for Sage.
I loved all those notes Colt had written left with all those in his family, leading Sage on a trip down memory lane. "I love you more today than yesterday, and I love you more than tomorrow than I do today. Be my wife and let me show you that you're my everything. Marry me?"
Tim gives Colt Sage's grandmother and grandfather's engagement and wedding rings. Of course, Sage says 'YES' and they now plan their wedding. But they are waiting until Blaze and Riley walk down the aisle first. Where Colt is taking Sage on their honeymoon is still a mystery.
Read the next book in this series: The Cowboy and His Obsession: A Best Friends to Lovers Romance (Rock Springs Texas Book 3) with Megan and Hunter. Happy reading!
This is book 2 of the series, but each book can be read as a stand alone. I have not read book 1 yet, but I plan on going back to read it soon since I liked book 2 so much.
This was a a great story concept. It's a second chance romance with a HEA ending. Needed a bit more editing, so since this was an ARC I received, I hope this is/was edited one more time before released. The errors, slowed down the reading of the story for me. Also, the jumping back and forth from past to present threw me off a time or two but once we stayed in the present, it was a much stronger read.
Loved the characters. Super strong characters from all walks of life. I can not wait to read the stories of everyone else. Great detailed descriptions. So easy to visualize.
Written as a 1st person, multi pov with a HEA ending.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes

Sage and Colt live in Rock Springs, Texas and have been best friends since childhood and are destined to be together. Colt saved Sage’s life from an accident when he was ten years old. Sage saved Colt’s life after a family tragedy and Sage’s family adopts Colt at fourteen-years old. Sage and Colt would spend their childhood together on the ranch until one day she was gone. Sage reappears in Colt’s life when she was involved in an accident and ends up in the hospital. Colt decides to leave his playboy ways and doesn’t leave Sage’s side at the hospital until she recovers. I really enjoyed this wonderful second chance at love romance novel.
This book in a 5 book series of the Brothers of Miller Ranch is a very well written book with great characters and lots of action. These characters are well constructed with history and chemistry. This story explores the concepts of trust, communication, being yourself, loving someone enough to set them free and so many other common issues that we all go through. These characters are so believable and realistic and I could not put the book down. A must read

Loved the story. The love from this makeshift family radiates off the pages. You can tell that they really chose who their real family was and they. Have stuck through thick and thin. Loved how fearless they are for one another. Hate how much time they lost due to misunderstandings and conniving people. But fate has a way of making sure those who belong together get their happily ever after live the ending!! Can’t wait for Megan to wake up and see hunter.
I was given an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Charming, beautifully written, and hopelessly romantic. Isn't it just so great when you find one of those books that completely drags you in, makes you fall in love with the characters, and demands that you sit on the edge of your seat for every nail-biting moment of it? This is one of those books for me. Read this series. You wont be disappointed.
A well written and entertaining book two in the Rock Springs Texas series! It is captivating, engaging, exciting, emotionally deep, funny, and is guaranteed to hold your interest from start to finish. The characters are amazing with a beautiful dynamic between them. Quite enjoyable and strongly recommended.

This is Sage and Colts love story the two met when they were 6 and she was hiding in the barn after her sperm donor beat her again Colt found her and him and his best friend Blaze decide to protect her, Colt knows she is his soul mate
I would recommend this book and series for mature adults (sexual content and situations) that enjoy stories that are at times laugh out loud funny, steamy, suspenseful, and romantic.
Miss Rose has done a marvelous job at this book. I absolutely loved Colt and Sages story. I laughed, I cried and I even got really mad in different scenes. I feel like I have known this family for years. My favorite part of this read were the clever way miss. Rose did the envelopes, that was brilliant. I highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a fun and entertaining read.
Spoiler. Very slow beginning. I almost stopped several times in this book as I got bored. I hate leaving unfinished books so I plowed on finally hit a good spot & just finished only to have it end with our couple having to go to another book to get married & on to their story. There was one interesting story in the story, it’s like they adopt people instead of animals. Good but just added fluff No more
Oh dear, I really didn't like this one. I just didn't connect at all with the writing. By the middle of the second chapter I just couldn't go on. I wasn't sure where the story was going to go, it seemed like we were starting at near the end. But mostly for me it was just I didn't connect at all with the writing. I can see other people like the book so it's obviously just something for me that I'm not connecting to it. I hate giving low reviews but this matches with my experience of the book.
Good story, fresh new plot and interesting characters. Time changes from years ago to present and back and forth was a little confusing. At one point, I almost decided to not finish reading this book. In over 40 years of reading romance I have only done that three times. I just can't abide typos, but what's even worse is when sentences are gramatically incorrect. Could have been a 5.
H grossed me out by sleeping with someone over and over again for sounds like a few years. He wasn't cheating, but didn't like circumstances, if h was his soul mate since they were kids...then he mentions two one night stands....yet she is celibate. She is also a "runner" which gets old....and get this...she kills someone in self defense, then years later is shot in another domestic dispute, and yet again a few years later is stabbed in another domestic dispute. Seriously? UGHHH.

This book jumps into a story that continually jumps back and forward, flinging repetitive incidents that no one overdone should live through. In between one of these incidents there’s a jump in years that then settles back to the incident with no clarity. Characters are six when they meet but I felt they were stuck in a time warp. Sorry I persevered but found the story chaotic .
Fantastic story! Characters that will steal your heart. A storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat and glued to your kindle! For me it was a love- hate deal as the characters face their demons. You will feel their emotions and struggles. A definite must read.

Sage and Colt were soulmates when they were children. The connection they had then is something that other never have. The only thing that they needed to do early on was learn to communicate with each other. Both of them went through heartbreaking episodes but they just made them stronger. This is another great book by Kaci Rose and can not wait to see what happens with the next couple.
Best friends second chance romance. Sage and Colt met at a young age whilst being raised by the same foster parents, so saying they have been through it all is correct. It was a good enough read but repetitive at a times.

The second book in the Rock Springs Texas series by an Author I have not read before. After reading this book I now want to read the rest of this series. A well written story with a very good storyline, Colt and Sage's story held my interest until the last page. What a story. A story of a lifelong relationship, this is a great read that revolves around not seeing what is under your nose. I loved being able to see the differing perspectives and the influences on opinions. And the old brothers best friend issue underlies all that is going on. It is a good book worth checking out.
I enjoyed this story which gives us the story of Sage and Colton. Coming to the realization of how they really were meant to be together. They had known each other from early age and they finally realized how much they belong to each other. A story well worth the read.

A beautifully written romance about friendship, healing, and finding love close to home. Sage has had some traumatic moments in her life and plenty of things to overcome. Colton's life has been similar to Sage's and they build a friendship based on the way they grew up. Each must learn to overcome the past and some of the present to get to the future.
This one has all the feels. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love, I got mad, and I got happy. Kaci M. Rose knows how to get your attention and keep you enthralled from beginning to end. Colt and Sage found each other at such an early age (6yo) and knew they were meant to be together but fate may have other ideas.
This us a good contemporary ranch romance. They had been best friends since early childhood. She'd saved his life more than once. Then she disappeared for two years. Coming home wasn't the best experience for either of them. They had to fight to be together again. It's s sexy reunion and a great read.
