Two years ago around Christmas she tried to off herself after loosing her parents, her sister, and her husband. Now, Mia Serrat, is back in the game, but apparently someone doesn’t want her to be. Pity no one believes her that someone wants her dead, not even her shrink, Dr. Handsome — er, Dr. Hansen.

Wow, this book was creep-tacular. It’s a pretty scary thought that someone could step in and take total control of your life and that is exactly what happens to the heroine of this story.

While the author took a few liberties with the duties and actions of a psychiatrist, in no way did it take away from the fast-paced plot. Overall I enjoyed the story. Mia had done a great job of getting her life back together. Then weird things started happening to her, making it look like she was losing her sanity. Ty wanted to believe her, but things in his own past made him doubt her. I was a little uncomfortable with his lack of faith in her, but it did work for the story. I did enjoy the ending and some of the revelations.

Vickie Taylor wrote her first novel in 1997. Upon completion, she was too chicken to give the manuscript to anyone she knew to read, so she sent her baby off to a few contests to get some anonymous feedback instead. Little did she know how her life was about to change: a few months later, she had won all four of the Romance Writers of America chapter contests she’d entered, was a Golden Heart fina ...more
